(Not that the rest of us, even all "decent and civilized people," are exempt from being sinners deserving judgment also. See the whole of Romans 1:18-3:20. "None is righteous, no, not one.")
I also think of the Parable of the Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21), who did not acknowledge God as the source of his blessings. "Thou fool!"
