Sad times at Mickey D's

First of all, I rarely step foot in a McDonalds. The only thing more rare is buying gas at an Exxon/Mobil or buying anything at Wal Mart. But I was out and about yesterday morning, doing some errands, and I stopped in for an "egg" and cheese biscuit. Long line at the drive through, so I went inside. Holy crap! I was waited on by a woman that had to be 90 years old. No joke. She was a very sweet lady, but really had no business working here.

The kitchen wasn't keeping up, so she had three orders on hold (my simple "egg" and cheese biscuit request among them). She couldn't keep track. The poor woman would walk back to the serving station, then have to walk back up the register to check the receipts to see what she has gone back to the serving station for. Over and over again. Seriously, half a dozen times, she'd check the list of waiting orders, then walk back to the serving area and appear to forget what she was there for.

It just made me very sad that this dear old woman was having to bust her hump for 8.25 and hour (CT's minimum wage) at her age. She should be at home having someone wait on her.

(semi-rant off).

I always enjoy how they have to justify to the other goons why they go to certain places, they can't just have happened to go to McDonalds or Walmart or whatever, they need an excuse.

I always noticed that he is discriminatory towards old people, She was a very sweet lady, but really had no business working here, who are you to decide what she has business doing?

Pedro couldn't make up his mind. Kept changing the order.
No wonder the lady had to go back and forth.
Pedro is a jerk.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

9. Last time I stopped at McDonald's I had similar experiences

And they had changed their menu since the last time I was in McDonald's 1999 maybe.

I was not impressed!

Atman of course ignores the most obvious thing.

Who's been the president the past four years, that this sort of thing is still going on?

Welcome to 0bama's socialist Utopia.  I don't remember any 90 year old servers at McDonalds during Bush's roaring economy. Things are only going to get worse with four more years of the smartest man in the history of the world running things.

Definate bouncy.  Anytime I've been to McD's, and no matter what part of the country I'm in, the person takes one order at a time and then completely sees it through before taking the next order.  Multi-tasking is not the name of the game at McD's.

13. Some do it just to get out of the house

I was chatting with the pizza delivery guy the other night and he had a pension and SS and said, "I just do this for some 'fun money'"

17. That seems incredibly selfish to me.

I have a pension and social security and while I could use some extra cash, there are so many others who need those jobs. If the economy ever improves (here in FL that's always an iffy issue) I would consider something part-time, but while things are like this and as long as I have enough for everything I need, volunteering will suffice to get me out of the house. I have neighbors who get social security but haven't any pension...they need the jobs they hold.

The DUmmies have reached the point where they consider a pizza delivery guy to be a greedy pig.  How far down do they want to drag the rest of us if they feel that way about a person delivering pizzas?

They used to feel sorry for folks with more than one job when Bush was in office. Now they think they are greedy pigs for taking a job away from some more deserving person.

You would think in the bestest economy ever that jobs would be plenty.  :whatever:

Why does Picasso put egg in quotes?

"egg"

Are eggs the proprietary property of Pedro or McDonalds?  When I write about eggs am I supposed to put it in quotes or pay a royalty or something?

I went to McDonalds for breakfast on this very morning and had the Big Breakfast with Hotcakes and a large vanilla iced coffee which includes a serving of scrambled eggs which seemed genuine to me.  I remember when I was a kid there was a rumor going around that the hamburger at McDonalds was actually nightcrawlers.  If the left put half the energy they expend into useful work that they put into running America and its successful institutions down, we wouldn't be in the mess that we're in.

Dunno bout that, USA4Me. Round these parts if the order ain't ready, they put the sales reciept on the counter and take the next order. I think our Mickey Dee's are franchises though. I always have to wait cause I usually get a fish sandwich.

Atman goes into McDonalds and knows what the pay is?

Did he apply for a job?

Did he apply for a job?

It's not outside the realm of possibility.

He's getting hit with the Alternative Minimum Tax this year, because the Democrats won't allow the Republicans to ease it up a bit.

Seeing how kpete is an Obama "millionaire/billionaire" - has she calculated how much more she is paying?

I guess Atman also doesn't realize that this old lady was getting 5% on her savings when Obama was coronated, and is lucky to get 0.7% now.  She also didn't get a COLA for 2 years, and the one coming in 2013 is offset completely higher Medicare premiums.  Meanwhile, food, medicine and oil have skyrocketed.  Also, she could be only receiving widow survivor benefits which rarely exceeds $800/month.
God I hate having to explain these possibilities to someone who's allergic to work.

I really only ever eat one thing at McDo's and that is the sausage and egg McMuffin. I don't know what they do but DAMN!!!

The wife is an accomplished chef (at first I wrote "chief", I don't know why) and she can't make one as good. She also loves them. I even bought an egg ring set with no luck. I guess I will just have to keep buying $2 delicious cholesterol bombs. Surprisingly the standard Egg McMuffin was invented in our city by a franchise owner. Sadly Canuk bacon is almost on the big five of foods jukin will not eat...even on pizza with pineapple.

I go to McD's alot and it is not unusual to see anyone working the counter go back and forth to check the order . Probably because of jerks like Assman  changing the orders all the time but whatever the reason it's not because the lady was 90 and was flustered.

The cost of everything has gone through the roof.  This lady is just doing her best to keep body and soul together.  All Atman can say is "she should home, being waited on."  Well, welcome to real life, where there are no unicorns, and they don't shit skittles, Rob.  You are so callous and uncompassionate.

So instead of seeing a compassionate corporation who doesn't see an elderly woman as useless and obviously is not guilty of ageism which ironically he is given his stereotype of what older people can and can't do.

Btw hate to tell him but the federal government contracts goodwill in some installations to so their cleaning. You know people with REAL disabilities. Working everyday. Dumbasses.
