I can see one advantage, is that the physical  coin will last longer, and you can't and you can't modify it to look like another coin of higher monetary value.

Puts a perspective on the term "coin slot".
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

I would quit carrying 'ones' if they were in coin form. The American people don't like $1 coins and our congress should respect that instead of figuring out whats best for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in London the year they made the pound coin.  As I recall the bartendes were elated by their windfall from people who left all their change for a tip.  And talk about saggy pants, the weight of twenty pounds in one's pocket is well, darn heavy.  True story.

English coinage is heavy to begin with. My favotite coin which I think is the 20p , is an octagon..

I despise the new dollar coin.  Same size as a quarter for one thing and too heavy to carry.

We converted our $1 and $2 notes to metal some years back.

****ing pain in the ass if you ask me.

Notes are so much easier to carry.

Every once in awhile, they threaten to shove this kind of shit down our throats.

The Susan B Anthony dollar coin from the early Eighties was hated so much (that, along with the "new" $2 bill, which really ain't all that new) that they shoved 'em down the throat of the military.

In Europe.  :whatever:

Pussies. Don't even have the balls to take on the populace.

'Course, now with Barry in charge, he'll shove ANY kind of shit down our throats and the populace will love it.
