Dallas star Larry Hagman has died at the age of 81.
The actor, who was famed for playing J.R. Ewing on the hit show, died at a Dallas hospital on Friday after complications with his recent battle with throat cancer.
He is survived by wife Maj, who he married in 1952. In 2008, Maj was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.

Sad. It was kind of nice seeing him as the old JR on the new Dallas.

What a memorable role that was. My parents watched Dallas religiously. Rip mr hagman.

I remember seeing him out and about in Dallas once. I had to do a double take because he had on his hat and looked exactly like JR always did. He was just strolling by, nobody was accosting him in any way. I guess Dallas was just used to seeing him.
I loved the TV series! The dream sequence put me off, but I didn't stop watching it. JR was such a great bad guy.

Yeah, the guy you loved to hate.
I remember being honestly, truly, completely disinterested in who shot J.R.

RIP, Larry, loved his impish sense of humor. And he was married to the same woman for over 50 years and stuck by her when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 4 years ago. I don't think the JR character would have done that.
