U.S. Deficit Shrinking At Fastest Pace Since WWII

Believe it or not, the federal deficit has fallen faster over the past three years than it has in any such stretch since demobilization from World War II.

While long-term deficit reduction is important and deficits remain very large by historical standards, the reality is that the government already has its foot on the brakes.

Combine this with record low unemployment levels of 7.9% and it's instant prosperity for all.  :rotf:

3. And, what Romney brought up in the debates over & over

was that Obama promised to halve the deficit... and, by the time Obama's fourth budget is done on 9/30/13, it may very well be close to half of Bush's last deficit of nearly $1.5 trillion

Fourth budget? Funny that us low information voters know that we haven't had a budget since 2009 so how in the hell if we even get a budget this year could it be the 4th budget?
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Not.

There's so much spin on that one that it will be days before I can keep any food down.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

What an incredibly shallow and misleading article.
The deficit is not the debt and to compare the yearly deficit as a percentage of GDP from a point when the economy was at its lowest and suggest that everything is rosy because as a percentage it is lower with the anemic growth we have seen is idiotic.
The debt is still exploding and unemployment is still high.

Then again for those not familiar with IBD it heavily weights its investment analysis on technical analysis which is much like divine entrails of roadkill.

It is not the deficit DUmb*ss, it is the debt. :banghead:

You can cut the deficit all you want, unless you cut it to zero it doesn't do a damn thing to the debt except not add anymore to it.

Primitive wants people to think s/h/it is refering to the debt.
Doesn't understand the concept of why a trade deficit might drop.
Without rowing over, I suspect primitives bought into it.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
