In the spirit of Thanksgiving I want to wish DU a happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving DU, may you take this day to be thankful for everything that you have. Despite this country being such a shit hole, as many of you claim, you have the honor of living in a country where you have a wonderful standard of living and for you to be truly miserable you have to dream up things to be outraged over. No this country is not perfect, but there will never be a such thing as a perfect country, so enjoy today and be thankful for what you have. Maybe if you took some time to be thankful for what you do have you might not feel so oppressed by the evil white men who you think are ruining your lives.

It would be nice if they'd stop and reflect on how good they have it here. But being the Godless cynics most of them are, they'll forever see their bowls as half-empty, and spend their lives like spoiled children comparing what's in their bowl to the person next to them.

 :agree: They deserve the misery they get for foisting it on others in the first place and since most of them don't want to be with friends and family to share the day it's not like they care enough to enjoy the gatherings and fellowship.

Yes, another enjoyable Thanksgiving with my family and the folks they invited. It all started when my SIL and her father spoke up at the same time and said how the President was driving the country to disaster, the ACA was going to be the demise of the country, and those horrible "non-traditional" folks were soaking the USA with their completely unfounded welfare claims.

To which I responded "that is one opinion, a rather shallow opinion, but an opinion nonetheless" and asked how they could support the basic tenets of the ACA when it was a major proposal of the GOP when Newt was promoting healthcare reform but not when the first Black President pushed the same reform, then asked what ME country they wanted us to invade to advance the good old USA instead of trying to improve the lives of fellow Americans.

Silence befell the group. Not a response from the RW'ers. They couldn't believe you were that stupid.

Three glasses of wine later they left and I enjoyed my reheated dinner.

I will be alone for Christmas rather than endure any more of those stupid ****er's nonsense. You were told to stay home because tou're an ass.

My sister said Grace before our meal yesterday, and asked God to bless Obama and to help him find the right path for the country because he is on the wrong path.  No one disagreed or argued.
