8. NO you aren't getting what my wife is saying. LOOK at our society today. You either are wealthy
enough to enjoy the "holiday" or you need to work make others "holiday" special. How about respecting others enough that people don't have to worry about working Black Friday. How about no one be forced to work a $8 an hour job on a day when families are "suppose" to be together because IF THEY DON"T WORK IT THEY COULD BE FIRED because their employer looks at it as a another business day.
Lord, what an idiot. For a lot of people, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
are another business day!
On holidays over the years, I've: eaten turkey from a Mermite; flown medevac missions; heated a C-ration can of spaghetti on the exhaust manifold of a Jeep and drank powdered coffee from a canteen cup; decorated a Christmas tree in the nurse's station of the ER; worked a trauma code in the snow for New Year's Eve; arrested a drunk driver on Christmas; got my foot broken making an arrest another New Year's Eve, pumped the stomach of a drunken suicide attempt for the Y2K; sang Christmas carols with my patrol buddy, Zeus the Farting Dog; and had a day or two off somewhere along the way.
I celebrated Christmas with my family when work schedules allowed, and I never gave a shit about Black Friday. I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything.
