Bullying is unacceptable. Some here justify it by claiming the victim "deserves it". Where have we heard that before? Bullies always use that rationale.

I didnt rec because I dont believe this is the appropriate way to fight bullying. Fight it face on or put them on ignore.

I dont think it appropriate to try to use your donation to force the Admins to do the right thing. Bring it to their attention and if they dont do anything about it and you cant live with it, move on.

I hope you stay to post another day. Put the bullies on ignore.

I am not saying I will do that. But the precedent does exist, from schools no less. Did I not mention SCHOOLS? Oh yes, I did. That is where the precedent for this is being built right now. You do realize US Law is precedent based right?

Look, people get way too protective of this site. Like ALL SOCIAL MEDIA SITES, it has it's good sides, and it's darker sides. That is the way it is. Adults usually can speak of the darker sides as well

MY own opinion, the pretension that we have community standards, is just that, pretension. They have not been enforced, at all, and since Juries came around, it is not democracy, it is anarchy.

As to the owners. They won't do a thing until somebody does something dramatic and they get sued in a court of law. That's the American way. The other choice, of course won't happen, is that enough others join up and it affects the balance sheet. I expect this to remain purely symbolic, so be it.

Of course, I forgot, there is another choice, stop pretending this place has community standards, that is closer to reality.

You know, it's easy, you can accept that yes, some of us will take symbolic acts. Or perhaps you would like to join them. It's an exclusive club of non entities. What is clear is my wallet is closed to DU...is that clear to you? Is that your main problem?

Bullying is real, and yes it can and does happen even here at this site. But what happens to you for the most part is ENTIRELY your own doing. My daughter has Asperger's and I can pick them out in a crowd, and I don't think she is.  Asperger's people tend to back down from confrontation and are sensitive to others laughing and/or making fun of them.

I dunno US....Her inability to decipher verbal social cues,hyper sensitivity to even the most benign disagreement and the very black and white concrete thinking {along with being a complete know-it-all} she engages in leads me to think there may be something there.I work around autsies and aspies daily and it's usually the lower functioning autsies who avoid confrontation and touching.The aspies will go to war with you over the smallest things...I have bruises on my shins to prove it!
