From the meta forum, so no link.

And by the way, nadin, there's another campfire burning in the meta forum that needs your attention; it's about you after all.

Yay!!!! I am now starless!!!!!

Finally, after ten years of giving money regularly I am now starless.

Good.

And if you have no idea why....well...my way to reward those who have let the bullies do their stuff

10. I made the decision to let it run in February or so

And promised I would do such.

It is purely symbolic, but I will not give my hard earned money to a place that has a bully problem and it refuses to deal with it. No more.

Has nothing to do with the bullies, it has everything to do with the intent of DU.

There is no place that is bully free but with the set up of DU they are confined to certain areas and the majority of them are dealt with accordingly.

I will continue to support DU on a monthly basis, I will also continue to deal with the bullies & show them for what they are.

GNads is still a star.  :yahoo:
In the astronomical community, they're known as "brown dwarfs".  :-)
Not kidding.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

What was the "last spat" she's talking about?

It would not surprise me if some bully prick buys her a star.

As far as I know, the DUmp doesn't have a way to refuse a donated star.

Now that would be hilarious.
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

I thought about sending a g-mail to my fellow alum Skins, pointing out that the oblate spheroid's outlived her usefulness to his site, that all she does is slam him and his site, and that she disrupts other members of his site, and suggesting that the Queen of the World finally be banned.

He does owe me some, Skins does.

Then I figured that would be counterproductive, encouraging him to retain her.

So I'm just sitting by, watching and waiting.  It'll happen on its own.

By the way, earlier this year, the oblate spheroid when whining about primitives who don't like being bullied by her, sent a personal message to her friends on Skins's island, including a couple of moles, saying she was so despondent no one would tolerate her bullying that she was contemplating doing herself in.

One wonders what the hold-up is on that.

Hmmm. I would expect that nads would choose a spectacular way to go, like skydiving and refusing to pull the cord, or jumping in a lion pit at the zoo. With all the knife fights she's been in, the mountain climbing and dinosaur hunting, you would think she would want to go out the way she lived: on the edge.

I got one for you nads. Walk into a biker bar, take a few photos, and yell, "Harley Davidson sucks!"
wait! No this is better! Stand outside and endure 6 feet of hail. Happens alla time!

That's an admin decision. Not having a star isn't a bannable offense. Lots of DUers don't have stars.

Celebrating not having a star isn't, either, I think. It's in bad taste, of course, but good taste isn't a requirement of DU membership, as far as I know.

I'm sure you'll be around for a long, long time. DU is habit-forming.

48. Nadin, you are right about bullies, but I think they have been exposed so often that no one really gives them any credibility here anymore. Most people either ignore them when they see their names, or have put them on ignore.

You contribute to DU, they do not. I think the community in general is on YOUR side. So if I were you, I would not allow them to influence any decisions I made.

It's interesting that a majority of them are men, both here and on the right wing site they so often quote or who quote them. And interesting that both sites target the same people. Confirming most of the studies of internet bullying among grown ups. Bullies = men, targets = women.

You can rest assured that most people are fully aware of them and for the most part agree with you on the issue.

We have disagreed from time to time, which is fine. But something definitely should be done about bullying wherever it rears its ugly head.

62. In the last spat

I gave Skinner my word that I would no longer contribute to his balance sheet. So just keeping my side of the bargain.

I realize this rubs a few people the wrong way...

But I have not only bought my star over the years, I did not send much in it, since every period I also bought stars for people who, quite frankly could not afford them.

So as they say, a promise made, a promise kept.

And I realize it is purely symbolic.

Since liberals regard the bureaucracy as being like God, it is unsurprising that they also regard God as being like the bureaucracy, so that He could accidentally assign someone the wrong body through sheer incompetence.

Nads is a producer now?   Gosh she is so swell!

I wish she would come over to our playground.  :(

If one considers getting arrested and being part of the police blotter "producing news" I guess that might count.

Just saying.

She produces something all right, and it isn't news.

Is it just me, or does nadin bear a resemblance to this person?

ETA: http://moonbattery.com/?p=20939

Well, this Stacie Laughton person is apparently an exceptionally ugly guy who maybe had one of those dickoffomy operations that so many democrat men want, in order to look like an exceptionally ugly woman.

Nevertheless, compared to the DUmp's trained historian nutcase nadin, Stacie Laughton looks like Miss Universe, though they may share the same hairdresser.

If all other women looked like nutcase nadin, DUmmy LynneSin could get laid, and DUmmy Sarah Imaboobi could keep a boyfriend.

If Sarah Imaboobi is still lurking here - Please come back to the DUmp! All is forgiven.

The Queen of Condescending is playing a dangerous game.

She can easily challenge and win against the garden variety DUmmy, however when it comes to "the" DUmmy, Skammer himself, she will lose and lose badly.

Perhaps this is an after effect of winning the DOTY.  She actually believes her position amongst the DUmmies is superior to any and all.

Her fall from grace is gonna be spectacular when it happens.

The problem is that if the crazy bald dwarf gets the pizza there isn't a single DUmmy even remotely ready to take her place as the preeminent DUmbass.

The DUmp has no bench strength at all.

Lots of people here dislike her so intensely they say they won't vote her DOTY, but what's the alternative?

Neckbeard? He's as simpleminded as Pam, without her unintentional hilarity.

Pineapple head? Much smarter than Neckbeard, but just relentlessly offensive. A DOTY needs to entertain.

ThomWV and Deadstone were good, but both are now roasting in Hell.

We need nutcase nadin at the DUmp. I hope no one over there sees this.

You know, when writing the introduction to the nomination thread for the top DUmmies of 2012, I thought about this, and you just may be right.  In all the years of the top DUmmies, this past one's seen a rather poor slate.

I think Skinner needs to find TiT and invite him back.

I'm concerned, because low-calibre primitives crept onto my personal private list of top DUmmies of 2012.

The dropsical LynneSin primitive, for example, the one that if she were punctured by a pin, would spout forth like a broken fire-hydrant.

In other years, she wouldn't have even been in my top thirty, much less my top ten.

I have the sense we're really going to be scraping bottom this year, for the top twenty primitives.

I don't know if I can even fill out a top ten this year. The funny thing is that some that would be in my top ten are only there because of their sucking up to nadine. If she's gone, so is their entertainment value.

I don't think I'm even going to vote this year.  No one has stood out as being exceptionally stupid over the regular run-of-the-mill daily stupid.  I hear what GOBUCKS is saying, but the same act over 2 years is a little much.
