Kevin Clash fired, Elmo voice to be done by Family Guy's "Herbert the Pervert."
Something about puppets that has engaged our minds for years. Was there not one in the 1970's on a show that was dressed as his handeler was and when the puppet spoke his mind and insulted someone it was the puppet that got slapped not the handler ???
I bought a Elmo puppet I had given my son to work one day at a Nursing Home, It was so much fun, these poor folks that had not had a laugh in 5 years LOVED him. The staff also got a chuckle even when the sad days came and we lost a patient.
Guess this all goes back to the Punch and Judy shows in England, then the Howdie Doody times of my youth.
Who was that woman that had a show where she had a Lamb puppet to talk with ???
Last time I have seen a puppet was in the "Best in Show" movie and that was a side splitter.
I have two, one I got at an estate sale, some kind of wood kit job from the 50's and a plastic one I bought at a flee market the back of the neck is stamped 1966. I love those darn thing, both need repair to operate, Hubby wont let me do so, he is afraid I would get really into it and get into much trouble.
