I bet seeing Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park would have been pretty good.
Tell ya what--seeing Springsteen and the ESB in Philly is awesome. See, when he was just first starting out, a Philly deejay (whose name escpes me at the moment) started playing his stuff on his show in Philly, saying that Springsteen was going to be "the next big thing." Well, Bruce got quite the following in Philly, so he always played his best shows there. I got to see him there on August 11th, 2003 (Coach Herb Brooks died that night) at Lincoln Financial Field. Effin'
awesome show. 27 songs, over 3 1/2 hours. He started with one that he'd never done before with the E Street Band, and
I knew the song. I was singing it at the top of my lungs, and the people in the row in front of me (we were 20 rows from the stage, in front of Clarence, and they were from Asbury Park) were asking each other, "How does
he know this song?" (I had it on a Bruce tribute album.) Unreal show.
Now my daughter wants to see him with me . . .
