Are they really this stupid?
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:15:28 AM »
Have I been this naive and misguided that I actually believed the American people are worthy of self-governance?

I had an office discussion just now with someone who is required by regulation to have a college degree. I complained that we have become a bread and circuses nation by way of EBT cards and birth control. She stated that she didn't see any harm in that as BC ought to be more available.

I said the government has no moral or legal authority to use armed agents of the state to force people, particularly if it is against their religious beliefs, to support such things. She said she thought it was hyperbole to use terms such as "armed agents of the state." I reminded her that all government is essentially force, i.e. if you refuse to pay a parking ticket they send armed agents of the state to bring you to court.

She copped-out saying it's just a little bit of money. Yes, I replied, it's $9/month at Target without a prescription. Any female that won't demand a guy to front what is the cost of dinner for 2 at McDonald's in order to get the goodies is too much of a whore (Yeah! I said it!) to bother with BC in the first place. But then I immediately returned to my point about armed agents of the state.

I could see it made her uncomfortable, both because she thought 1) it was an extremist description and 2) I might be right. She kept bobbing her head back and forth the more I stated you cannot freely choose to not participate and if you do refuse police--armed agents of the state--will visit you to drag you to those who will hold you account for defying an unlegislated mandate.

What's most infuriating is while she conceded what I was saying was factually correct she reiterated that we really need BC access and its just a shame the Catholics are so upset and why should I be upset, I'm not Catholic.

Yes.

One of the exit poll attributes stated:

Percentage of people to whom Barry was seen "more like them" -- 73%

Percentage of people to whom Romney was seen "more like them" -- the rest.

Don't quote me on the actual numbers.

But the point is, there are enough stupid people in this country that absolutely, positively, truthfully cannot see the chicanery, lies, narcissism and full-blown "**** you, people, because I've got mine" that Barry has written all over his jugeared mug.

Most of those that vote have  done so for the freebies , Others have given up on the way the government works and didn't vote so now we have this mess to live with.

What I'm confused about, is how is the government going to operate without cutting spending?  They can't continue to borrow or print.

You'd be surprised how resilient the economy is, despite Barry and Bernanke's chicanery, but even there is an end to that.

When the economy oozes into the shitter, you'll know it.

There are quite a few familys that were displaced at gun point in New London Conn. when they refused to sell their homes they had lived in for generations .

Not that long ago, with in all our life times.    A bell weather to the country.

A company came in that wanted to build a big Hotel on the land. they offered the home owners 50. cents on the dollar for their homes and property.    Say one had a home valued with land at at $150,000  they wanted it all for $60,000 .  These homes and property had been paying taxes for 50 years on the property and now expected to take chump change for them ?

Sad state of affaires when the State took the property by public domain,  not to benifit the state residents but to allow a private company to build a Hotel.

Some home owners held out to be forced out of their homes by the State police,  some were shot and killed defending their property.     Soon as people forget New London Conn. it will happen in some other part of the country.

They knowingly enabled Marxism.  In the face of Obamacare and Taxmageddon.  In the face of the Benghazi and Fast & Furious killings and subsequent cover-ups.  In the face of the nakedly obvious Green-energy con.  In the face of the war on coal, natural gas, and American energy independence.  In the face of a 16 trillion dollar debt.  In the face of 8% unemployment (<-- and even to get to that number, you have to cook the books by not counting people who've given up looking for work, people who've started selling dope, and people who've killed themselves because they can't take care of their families anymore).  Half this country enabled Marxism to march on.  To them, its more important that Sandra Fluk has enough condoms to last her through Spring Break than whether or not our grandchildren live in the USSR.  Yeah, they sure as hell CAN be that stupid.

I'm especially dissapointed in Pennsylvania, knowing how important coal and natural gas is to them.  My loyalty and concern for my native state is being severely tested.  When those industries go away, I'm going to be sorely tempted to shrug my shoulders and say, "Sucks to be you."

Blame Philly, dude.  The rest of the state went red.
