On my way home I took an Obama/Biden sign from someone's yard.

She had around half dozen signs, and some local shithead stole ours on Halloween night. I saw her raking leaves in her yard this afternoon, explained my situation, and asked if I could borrow one of hers. She gave me a sign and a hug. Damn it, Virginia! We can do this!

A hug for comfort? Virginia is going Romney this year.

live in a very red county. There were Romney signs everywhere...on my rural road alone, there were 10 Romney signs and only 1 Obama sign (not including ours.) I just returned from the store and noticed there were only 2 Romney signs remaining on the entire 5 mile stretch. I find that extremely encouraging.

7. LOL...well,

This past week has been a real disaster for Romney. Between the "cut FEMA funding" to the laughable "relief rally" and then the blatant Jeep lie in Ohio, I think even Republicans are beginning to realize he's grossly lacking in character.

Yeah, obama going to New Jersey for just a photo op showed his character also. I can't wait to see what you do on Tuesday.

How broke do you have to be to not afford a free campaign sign?

You know, I've never understood this:

7. LOL...well,

This past week has been a real disaster for Romney......

I've been watching political campaigns since I was a little lad; the long-term trends, the short ups-and-downs.

The primitives for the longest time have been yapping about this month or that month being a "disaster" for Romney, beginning in early summer.

The primitives and franksolich see the same things; the same events, the same people.

It's been so long since Romney's had a disaster--perhaps during the Republican primaries, I dunno--that I can't even remember any more what it was; all I've seen is upward progress, no big gaffes, forging steadily ahead.

One wonders why the primitives and franksolich are interpreting it differently.

Because they have to keep repeating it to delude console themselves.

Most likely NOT true. I see it going down like this, Prog was walking down the street, saw some Obama signs and thought, "Hmm, I'm not being the good little Prog because I don't have a sign, and look at that person, she has way more than she needs! I'm taking one of her signs!". So, Prog took one of her signs and now, wallah! Moonbat cred.

I had one of the few Romney (and local conservative canidates) signs in the neighborhood. Woke up this morning and the Romney one was shredded. Guessing the obama voter that did it had no idea who the local guys were as they were not touched.

I know an older lady in town. She has some renown. She puts up a sign every election (most every election) that says "The Liberals Lost". She's famous for all the threats she receives from liberal soccer moms that want to foam at the mouth over it. She lives on a major street in town that takes you to the mall. lol. Nobody touches her sign. The cop that moved in on her block always keeps an eye out to make sure she's safe.

The campaign ran out of cash so the sign is free if you donate some $$$. No cash, no "free" sign.

Now this I believe.  It just means that an angry lib went down the street, and stole all the signs.

Twice this year, someone came by and vandalized all of the local congressional district signs (all republican) on my street, and so I have a feeling that is why my neighbors haven't bothered with a yard sign this year.  I still put up a Romney/Ryan sign though, and to date, my Romney/Ryan sign has been vandalized five times.  Meanwhile, the one Obumbles sign at the end of the street has remained untouched.

That's OK, though.  I finally had enough after the third time my sign got trashed.  I hope they like urushiol oil.  I know for a fact somebody got a nice handful of it.

Well, we have exposed ditches, so that's a no-go here, unless you are in a 4x4 with huge ground clearance, and want to chance getting stuck.

And, I did say I know for a fact.  My neighbor's camera is a wonderful thing.   :naughty:

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
