I think Vesta may have a Coon Cat.

I have one too. When he stands up to paw at my girlfriend, he comes up to her waist. Big guy.

Oreo took our move, this past weekend, rather nicely (in that she didn't shred my arms).  She did try to grab onto the metal window frame, and split a claw (nail only), before I put her into the back bathroom to get her out of the way.  When it came time to get her to the new place, it took me 10 minutes to corral her to get her into the transporter.  Then, after getting her to the new place, and after setting her litter box up in the downstairs half-bath, I let her out, and she crawled behind the toilet and stayed there for five hours.  After we came back from dinner (by then it was my wife, our daughter, and I), Oreo was gone--she had gone upstairs to The Heiress' room and crawled behind a play kitchen set.  She then crawled under our daughter's bed.  At around 1:50 AM, Oreo decided that she wanted up on our bed, and jumped right next to me--then loudly purred to get under the covers.  Oreo eventually found her way down by our feet, then The Heiress decided that she wanted to get in bed with us.  All four of us in the bed. ::) :whatever:

I was going to say at least one of them doesn't have claws and teeth, but I'd still be wrong.

We had a black siamese. She was totally black, but had the siamese yowl and the siamese hunting instinct.Jingles does her own thing...When she wants to cuddle she is very affectionate. Sometimes, she swats me to get attention that she wants to play. I throw her balls around and she chases them. She is a wonderful cat, and I love her!!.
That truck story made me cry!! :bawl: :bawl:

I've had several barn cats that people just decided to drop off in front of the Ranch. They seem to turn wild within a few weeks and run if you try and approach them. Can't blame 'em. If somebody just dropped you off and abandoned you, ya might be just a little pissed at humans.

I have three now that made the move with us to the lake. They all think I'm their human. The big tabby follows me around just like my dogs. Mama only comes by when she needs a pet. Nala is just a pain in the ass. She was mama's kitten about 5 years ago, right before we had mama fixed. I thought she already was. She only had 4 and we got rid of three out in front of Wally World. My granddaughters gave me the baby blues so I had to keep one.

Nala gets me up in the middle of the night when she wants to go huntin'. She brings me back "prizes" all the time. Lately, it's garter snakes! She tried a turtle once, but I think the turtle was meaner than she was!

The Tabby, he's a Tom, sleeps right under my feet where I have to get outa the bed! I step on him every once in a while, but he won't move. I guess he thinks he's my carpet. Nuttin' like steppin on a 25 pound cat in the middle of the night!

Ditto you post.  I have had barn cats, a feral, and of course a collection of regular house cats.  Best Coon cat story:  Eating a hamburg in St. Thomas VI.  Hear a low growling from the stomach of the person to my right, a woman in a long loose wrap in which she had a Coon Cat rather like the way folk carry a baby. This guy was massive and darn big paw so if  he had made a grab for my burger he would have had  it.  i had never seen one before and was some impressed.

I think Vesta may have a Coon Cat.

I have 2, a male and female.  Male is of good size and has that damn hair that mats big time.   Odd personality, hates to be groomed is best friends with the dog who is about his size.  He adopted Hubby as his servant.

Female adopted ME, she is also odd, hair that never mats, ignores the dog and likes having company visit while the male hides.

Problems with a coon, they get so big that at night both thunder about the house on those huge feet.  Sounds like we have two  human toddlers racing about.   Both get uneasy if our schedule is changed , We have to reinforce the screens in the spring to keep the windows open, they are not trying to get out, it is the weight of them laying on the sill pushing the screen out.

Then one gets so use to these giants that when one visits someone that has a normal size cat at 8-10 pounds think these cats are kittens.  Turn this around and when visitors come to my home they are not sure what kind of animal that is. :-) :-)

Then these cats have to be house cats cannot let them outside or someone will steal them.  Yup, had a problem with a neighbor who when my Flame Point Siamese cat got outside they scooped her up.   [ This was in the days before the Micro chip ].

True blue American cat, only breed considered as indigenous to America.   This is the first breed of cat to have founded the American Cat clubs.

Look for a clearly defined M marking on the forehead and lynx like ears, tails that are at least 3/4 the body length and paws that when extended become 3 times larger.  Norwegian Forest cats resemble the Coon, said to have come here on Viking ships, but are just half their size full grown.

I have a Main Coon.  If you go read their personalities he follows it to a T.

He can't stand to be loved on or petted.  But he will follow you every where, sleep with you, and be a very loyal companion.  Not really what we were looking for but after a stray we brought back from sickness disappeared I picked him up off of craigslist as a little kitten.

Anyway he is freaking beautiful and loyal, but you don't touch him... he touches you.

Oh and he weighs 17 lbs.
