This morning, our nephew, a county cop in St. Georges County, MD, had no problems except for the heavy rain. I don't know about tonight, though.

From what I'm hearing it's pretty rough out there. I'm hoping that Sandy will settle down and life can return to normal real soon.

We're going to "camp out" in our living room tonight. The girls would rather all of us be together with this wind howling. The rain is pretty much over. Just hoping to make it through the wind.

It's not; the sun comes up again in the morning.

The same feeling I get during a raging blizzard.  All one can do is wait it out, and look at the damage when it's over.

I'm thinking of you all, even though you can't see it because your power's probably out.

Well, looking at who's here on conservativecave now (circa 9:15 p.m. central time), the south, the midwest, the mountain states, and the west coast are well represented.

But there's a lack of members from the northeastern states.

Of course, there's an excuse for it.  They'll come through, though.

Hi all from south Jersey!  We are in the midst of the storm but have not lost power. It's actually a soothing sound, having the windows
 open and listening to it. I can remember it as a sound from childhood as I've been through quite a few of these. I pray all on the east coast are faring as well as I and don"t have Shore homes.

I was dividing up the proportion in hours I was going to lose sleep tonight, worrying, per member from the northeastern states.

You just gave me an extra 37 minutes of slumber tonight, when I wouldn't have to toss-and-turn.
