The score's based upon progress each of the candidates have made since the conventions.
The (R) team's gone slowly-but-steadily upward; the (D) team's mired down, having made no progress at all.
So now it's the ninth inning, the (D)s up to bat.
Maybe the (D)s might get one or two up there, this last inning, but they've got to get six, to win.
It's possible, I guess (although I'm not holding my breath), that this game's over in eight and a half innings.
