Now I seriously may be wrong here but I thought that Mr. Obama has yet to pass his first balanced budget....

sequestration is the automatic budget cuts to entitlements and defense as part of the super committee

And we have just as many bayonets, it's just more ceremonial now, but we deploy with them.

The Democrat-controlled Senate has not passed a budget in nearly four years.  That means Mr. Obama has not passed a budget at all in that time.  They are using "baseline budgeting" which allows them to use the previous-year's spending as a minimum spending limit.
