Oh my.

The primitives must be rehearsing their auditions for Top DUmmies of 2012 behind the curtain today, as Skins's island seems pretty dull; just the usual and standard Hate stuff.

While wandering around randomly, I came across this, from last June:

8. Maybe the "****ing cow" isn't on anything....Maybe she's just had a hard life..

Ya think?

I'm not saying what she did was at all acceptable, but you might consider NOT kicking someone when they're down, and BEFORE you find out about their life.

But thanks; your concern is duly noted.

14. post yr mug shot and we'll be the judge of that

this woman looks like a slim, white woman who started out pretty but doesn't have enough money to get botox and thus actually looks like what 35 looked like for pretty white women who got outside for all of human history until now

this, in a mugshot, where most people look like dog vomit because of the harsh lighting

if you admit to looking 43 in real life, chances are in a similar setting you would like about age 63

but let's not debate this, since you are proud of your looks and think you are better looking, you would have not prob posting your picture so objective eyes can be the judge

me, i'm sick of bigots who judge people based on their looks, and by the way, cow is a slur for a fat woman, she is not fat, if she was fat, she would have no wrinkles at age 35 -- i am truly sick and tired of people who think all women over age 29 should be either executed or mocked until they commit suicide

you could have commented on the fact that she is a sociopath or a con artist playing people for money, instead you chose to comment on her looks

what does that say about you? what does it say about DU that only one other person is alerting on this?

If I'm remembering the picture of SC I saw correctly I would NEVER have thought him to be 43.  He looked way older than that if I remember correctly but maybe I'm thinking of someone else.  I get them confused.  Seems like it was a picture of him standing in a hallway or something ...

LVL is only 43, and he thinks he looks his age?  I would have pegged him for mid 50's at least.

He hasn't had nearly as hard a life as he's alleged; after all, the Las Vegas Leviathan for about twenty years lived his dream, a chance many others don't have.

Ever since he was a little lad in New Jersey, he dreamed of being a card-dealer in a casino.  Others dream of becoming doctors, lawyers, big businessmen, Hollywood stars, television personalities, artists, writers, nurses, firemen, hoteliers, &c., &c., &c., but the Las Vegas Leviathan's dream was to be a card-dealer in a casino.

And it came true for him, despite his lack of education and any other ambition; for about twenty years he sat at the tables of casinos in Las Vegas, dealing out cards to big-shots, oogling pretty show-girls, skimming off the house.

Among other fringe benefits, he got unlimited chow from the casino restaurant.

I was looking for the Las Vegas Leviathan's first appearance here--the one where he blamed George Bush, Republicans, and his mother of sacred memory for his obesity--but man, there's s-o-o-o-o-o-o much material here it boggles the mind.

I did come across this, from July 2011:

Quote
Ege Bamyasi
Posted: Sun Jul 31, 2011 8:40 pm

Location: Las Vegas, NV

06/26 - 339
07/10 - 337 -2
07/17 - 333 -4
07/24 - 337 +4
07/31 - 343 +6

That isn't a typo, and as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with my scale.

Two things to consider concerning this:

First, my bowels are still acting really weird. I'm in this pattern where, for as many as 3-4 days, I will only have a small BM here or there. Then, the floodgates open and I'll go as many as 6 times in a single day with huge ones. After that is done I'm left with this feeling like I've been sucker punched in the gut. Then that feeling passes and it's lather, rinse repeat. Truthfully I have always been a little bit like this, but lately it's like the process has gone quantum on me. Right now I'm about to enter the "floodgates open" phase. So, were I to weigh in tomorrow, I would probably be 340 or slightly under. In fact, I will do just that and post the results here.

The other thing is that my muscles are so badly atrophied that there just isn't anything there to really burn off the fat. When I say that I have lost about 180 lbs. doing almost no exercise at all, maybe what I should amend that to is no activity at all. Pain has limited me, and still does, but I am at least to the point now where I can walk indoors on a carpeted floor with reasonable certainty that I won't wear all the skin off my feet and end up with more ulcerations like I almost certainly would in shoes if I had any that even fit properly.

A comparison between 12 years or so ago, and now:

I was about 375 lbs. or so back in 1998, when I decided that I needed to try and get serious about getting in shape, losing weight, and eating better. So, I began walking from the trailer park along the main highway where I lived, up to the (at the time) one and only stoplight in Pahrump, NV, and back. The distance was almost exactly one mile each way. On day one, I made it down to the light and back, and just to push a little extra I walked half the distance and back for a total of 3 miles. By the time I got home, I needed to grip the rail of the little metal stairs up to the door for dear life with one hand, and brace my other hand against the wall just to be sure I could get up three little steps without falling and busting my head open. My legs were literally quivering like Jell-O, and when I got inside I went immediately to the couch and just sat there for a good 20 minutes to get my breath and stop the shaking in my legs. There was only muscle pain for a while, but my joints seemed fine.

The next day I went out and did it again, and by the end of the first week I was up to two complete trips to the light and back. Six days a week I kept doing this, and I built my distance up to an average of 6 miles per day and a maximum of about 9.5, while my weight dropped from 375 to about 302. At that point, I was forced to return to Vegas for work and the onset of major depression led to me giving up on all that hard work. Sucks, doesn't it?

Now just today. I gave it my all and walked laps around the living room and kitchen for 30 minutes. My legs had that rubbery feeling after only 20 but I put in that extra bit with the old adage, "no pain, no gain" in mind. The muscle fatigue has mostly abated now that I've been typing for a while, but my knees, hips and lower back are all screaming in pain and much of this is joint pain instead of muscle pain.

Now, I'm determined to fight to rebuild my atrophied muscles, to the point where I can function as close to normally as possible (and in the hopes that my feet will heal enough to make wearing some of my old shoes plausible again). I believe that this will be the only way I can continue losing weight at a regular clip without limiting my calorie intake to a point which could be harmful. Living with a very low income and no access to medical care has me terrified of causing myself some sort of serious injury, but my rational mind accepts the fact that there's simply nothing else I can do at this point. I'm up against a brick wall that will only come down with major effort on my part which ideally would involve the help of doctors and physical therapists. But bitching about this epic flustercluck of a medical system we have here in the US (we're now 37th in the world in overall health care and 50th in overall life expectancy, while in many counties -- mostly rural -- women have had their average life expectancy drop in recent years), while certainly cathartic, isn't going to get me where I need to be.

So, with that all having been said, I'll be pushing as hard as I think I can get away with to accomplish something every day towards a decent level of rehabilitation. Today was my first half hour, and there may be more if I can get myself moving again. And the rest of this weight is coming off whether it wants to or not.

This isn't it, but I'm getting closer.

My recent experiences with "hidden" food price inflation and declining quality.

I thought I would take a minute to rant about some serious changes I'm witnessing regarding common food items, which many of you have probably noticed. I'd also like to hear of any other examples of these types of things if any of you out there have them. This is something that needs to be talked about because it's the type of stuff that just sort of "sneaks by" an inflation index which is already ridiculously biased and false.

The first thing I've recently noticed is that Dreyer's ice cream, which used to come in 2 quart containers, has been shrunk down for the second time in about a year. The first time, they left out about a cup to make a container 1.75 quarts. Now just this past week my wife went to buy us some as a treat and it was 1.5 quarts. Of course, the price hasn't dropped. And if I do say so myself, the stuff actually tasted pretty flaky to me. Since this is the sort of thing we only buy once every couple of months anyway, I suppose now I'll just write it off as not worth the money. It's full of corn syrup anyway.

Next stop, Doritos. I can remember back in my high school days of all-weekend Dungeons and Dragons sleepovers, Doritos and bean dip being one of our staples. Back then, 7-11 had the 16 ounce bags of the various flavors for about $1.79, and occasionally on sale for barely a buck (this was in the mid 80s). The chips were thick and crunchy, tasted wonderful, and wouldn't break as you drug them through a can of thick bean dip. Over the years, that 16 ounce bag of chips has decreased in size by small steps to where it is now only either 12.25 or 12.5 ounces and is price stamped $3.79 at the factory. I tried some of the Cooler Ranch chips a couple days ago and could not believe the difference in taste and texture. The chips now have a thin, flaky, frail body to them and after one chew they just melt into your mouth as though they were made out of some kind of flour rather than stone-ground corn like before. They also tasted much less "ranchy" than I remember, though that's harder to really quantify. Once again, this is a junk food item which I really can't justify being in the same zip code as with my health issues, but to me it sucks that one of my lifelong favorite comfort foods has taken a nosedive to the point where I no longer have any interest in it at all.

Finally, today we're expecting the exterminator over any time now to help get our bug problem under control, so the kitchen has been pretty much emptied out and I'm not about to mess it up trying to cook anything until he's come and gone. I needed some kind of snack to stop the hunger pangs I'm feeling, and sometimes when I get desperate I'll break open a bag of the 10-for-a-buck ramen noodles and just munch on them dry (and I know I'm not the only one who does this so don't even start with me!). Anywho, I notice that the noodle package is the same size it has always been, but it seems conspicuously... empty compared to how they used to be. Inside the package was this little square-shaped clump of dry ramen noodles, whereas not too long ago they came in a longer, more rectangular portion. The weight on the package said 3 ounces. I might be wrong here, but I could swear that they used to be 4 ounces. At least they otherwise tasted as predictably cardboard-ish as they normally do.

At Trader Joe's, where we do a lot of our shopping, the staples we depend on like organic, unsweetened soy milk and organic whole wheat pasta have seen price increases of around 50% in the past year. The cereals, which used to be almost universally under $2 per box, are now around $3 and in many cases higher. Sprouted grain bread is almost double in price compared to when I first started going there a few years ago.

I guess it's time to look into a thrift store bread machine, and to start worshipping at the altar of split pea and potato soup. On the bright side, it's a hell of a lot healthier and cheaper!

I'm 42, and someone told me today I look 35.

They were probably just humoring the elderly.

By the way, I didn't go grey until my twins came along.

He doesn't look that overweight, from the video.  That dreary, nasally drone of his made me nuts after two minutes; can't imagine his wife living with it.  But then, some women are true masochists.
If you hate Nevada so much, LVL, the People's Welfare State of California is right next door.  Just please don't make a wrong turn and head to Arizona. :p
But, here's a hint, dude, earning a living and providing for your wife instead of making up excuses to stay home and play on your computer would go a long way towards replacing that whiny attitude of yours with a feeling of accomplishment, of being a MAN, not a leech.

Did you go look at some of his other videos?  One of them is titled Loose Skin.  You should check it out.  He's done a good job of losing weight and for that I congratulate him!  He says he's lost 200 #'s and I believe him.

The thing about that video is he complains about needing a knee brace but can't afford one .... in the next couple of minutes he tells about the 4 cats they have.

Kirk, if you're reading this ... if you really wanted/needed a knee brace you could get rid of the cats.  I know they're like family and all but don't you think humans should come first?  I mean, once you get the brace you could go back to work then get some more cats.  Sounds like a win/win to me but I don't have an IQ like the one you claim.

Losing weight like that would make him a natural to be a motivational speaker; maybe he and Obama can hit the lecture circuit next year together talking about who the Bigger Loser is. :-)
