Typical "Greenie" idea. Disposable bicycles. What will they think of next? Won't be long and we'll be flyin' cardboard rockets to Mars!
I believe the idea is to coat the cardboard with a very toxic sealent. This prevents moisture from getting into the product.
Unfortunately the sealent is so toxic that I have no idea how the production workers could be protected. As far as disposal of unwanted bikes, how to do this, cannot put in land fill, cannot dump in the ocean or even burn the suckers.
Cardboard is an an amazing product, as long as it is kept dry the triple strength boards makes wonderfull insulation, the holes between layers allow air flow, but once wet it can produce mold that is a killer if inhaled.
These bikes would work great in a very dry country, little to no humidity, say Death Valley.
Innovation is great, perhaps this may turn out well if a sealent can be found that is non toxic.
