I won't lose any sleep.

When it was convienient to be a Democrat, he was a Democrat. When it was convienient to be a Republican, he was a Republican. Then, when it became convienient to be a Democrat again, he switched - again. So it goes with politicians who so willingly sell their souls. Finally, the Pennsylvania voters showed him the door.

You know, though, I voted for Arlen Specter the first time he ran for Senator.

Issues of life are very important to me, and at the time I had to make a choice--between the ostensibly pro-abortion (R) and the ostensibly pro-life (D), then the mayor of Pittsburgh.

I had no qualms about going for the (R), no qualms at all, because I figured that an anti-life (R) would be more amenable to changing his views, and his votes, on the issue, while a "pro"-life (D) would vote however his bosses decided he'd vote, and of course the Democrats being in the pocket of the anti-life forces.....

It wasn't a mistake, voting for Arlen that time.

In January 1993, during the inaugural festivities in Washington, Arlen Specter happened to get on the same elevator where the really stupid Barbara Streisand was.

Upon being introduced to him and illuminated that he was a Republican, the dumb dense broad said, "I didn't think there were any more Republicans left in Washington."

At which he assured her there were, and turned around and walked off.

Me too.

I'm finding that I'm getting harder and more jaded in my feeling towards liberals. especially one that was a turncoat.

You got it! When he turned DimWit just to hold his office I lost all respect for the political whore! Career politicians turn my stomach when they put put their office above the people.

I'll not be losin' any sleep over the prick.

I do however know what it is like to lose a loved one, so my prayers will go to his family. Who knows, maybe if he had been truer to heart, he would have lived longer. Greed and ego have been the downfall of many men.

Hi,

Let us not forget just what Specter did.  He became a key vote for Obama in bank bailouts, health care and other bills.  It was not just so much as switching parties; he kept a conservative Republican from getting elected.  Had it not been for Specter, Obamacare might not have passed.

We are all responsible for our own behavior; and the consequences thereof.  I will not say anything bad about Specter, just report the facts.

regards,

I hear they keep opening the casket for private viewings.  One time Arlen will be lying there, face up. The next time it will be his legs and shoes showing.  Then his face again.  Very confusing to all those not in the know.

I'm willing to let the Navy bury his ass in a sea of Holy Water if it'll do the trick.

It'll take a battalion of priests to bless all that water, but yeah, I'd show up and play Taps on tuba.

he gets Taps because he's a former senator. Sad trombone will cost extra.

<=== wonders if there's a piece titled "Don't Let the Door to Hell Hit You in the Ass on the Way Down, You Unmitigated Bastard" that I could request for his funeral...

Dunno, but special arrangements like that also cost extra.

(Off topic, but hell - we're just bullshitting anyway. My sister's getting married on Friday. Mrs. E and I will be there to perform (she will accompany me and play a solo piano piece). My sister's laundry list of music stretches from here to next week. Some of the stuff she wants to hear (like the solo piano piece) ISN'T EVEN ARRANGED YET. But she wants to hear it.

"Whaddya mean? Why can't you just play it?"

Non-musicians.  :banghead: )
