He is also from Mexican descent.  If we are going to give them welfare, drivers licenses and aren't going to deport them, then ID cards are just another cog in the wheel towards their amnesty.  Of course those in the ruling party don't give a fig what the voters voted for, or that we recalled a governor for what they are still pulling today.

This country has turned into nothing but one big entitlement society. No wonder so may people are trying to come here. We give them all kinds of free stuff. Most times more free stuff than the natural citizens. It makes me sick to put it lightly.

It's bad enough that we now have drug cartels operating freely in this coutry, but we are also getting a lot of OTM's.  (Other than Mexicans).  One of these days we are going to have a terrorist attack, and we will find out they came through the southern border. 

I couldn't believe after 9/11 that we didn't shut that border down.  It only seems logical.

I've considered it, believe me.  But I'm third generation and have a lot of roots, family and friends here.  I live right on the coast and the weather is great all year round.  Not sure if I can even aclimate anywhere else.
Lived in Colorado one winter.  No thanks.  We have snow in the winter that I can visit.  Living in it sucks.   Spent a summer in Houston.  No thanks, too hot, too humid and too many bugs.

Besides.....California gave us Reagan....(I keep hoping)  :-)

So give them ID cards. Big, international orange in color, to differentiate them from LEGAL residents.

This was suggested a few years back.  The idea was to put a big identifying mark on the id to make it easy to recognize that the person holding the id is not here legally but the illegal alien activists bitched and whined about this, comparing it to the armbands the Jews were forced to wear by the nazis to identify them as Jews.  And of course the socialist politicians went along with them and opposed any marking.

Wouldn't the fact that they are a CITY issued ID be marking enough to tell they are illegal? Anyone here legally would be able to get a state issued ID...

This and the marked or different color cards should be mandated. I prefer the different color; it's easily identifed even a distance.

Except, of course, that California isn't going to gas or shoot or garrote illegals. That nutcase Jerry Brown is simply gonna give 'em free stuff.
