My younger brother and his son visited me.........

and Mom yesterday. My brother is 52, and a Union member. His son turned 18 10 days ago, and is registered to vote in November. Just like his older brother his first election to vote is for the President.

My brother, said "if Romney wins, I'm never going again, because any win for Romney will just show that the voting machines and the whole system is rigged."

I told him that if Romney, wins, I think we might see an uprising by the people, we won't take it on the chin like we did in 2000. If Romney wins, and there is an uprising, Romney & his minions will do everything in their power to put all elections on hold, and maybe we won't have the chance to ever vote again.

That is what is at stake in this election, our future. I have 2 younger brothers, 52 and 54 years of age. I'm 56 and my older brother is 59. Why should Social Security and Medicare be safe for my older brother and me, but not for my younger brothers? Why should my nephews and nieces, who have paid into SS & Medicare not have the same protections as their parents and me? Why should my 18 year old nephew have to hear from his Dad that if Romney wins his Dad won't ever vote again?

Yeah, if Romney wins it's only because he cheated, it's not because unemployment, debt and gas prices are high, and the Arab world is on fire.

My guess right now (and things can change quickly so not a prediction) is that Gov Romney will win by 3-5 percentage points in the popular vote and somewhere in the 350 count of the electoral college.

Also going way out on a limb here but if there is a repeat of debate number 1 it is not beyond possibility to see my state (NY) become "in play".

Totally agree with the second, neighbor.  Also, seeing that Romney gained 8 points in California in the last four weeks, it's possible that California goes "in play," especially if the Hispanic voting numbers from Florida hold true in California.

That would be fantastic and also what I've been hoping for.

I've always loved these arguments about the younger generation voting for Obama so social security will still be there for them.  Are they that dumb?  I'm thirty-four, been paying into social security since I was seventeen and will pretty much guarantee that it will not be there when I'm at retirement age.  I don't keep all my retirement eggs in one basket, but I love the idea of someone making some kind of reforms so it really will be there for my generation.

It is anecdotal but when Rep Gibson is leading in his new gerrymandered district of Albany and all I see here are Doheny signs I think there is a good chance this district will flip from Owens.

But if Obama wins, it was fair and square right?

We heard this after Reagan and George W Bush.  Conservatives are not by nature totalitarians.  Tyranny is the domain of statists and liberals.  Also, your "people's uprising" is so 1910's.  Why don't you just admit what you are?

I'm in Tonko's district, after the gerrymandering.  Will Bob Dietrich have a chance against Tonko?  Tonko's district before included Amsterdam, but now it's got a big chunk of Clifton Park.  Not much is being said about that race.

His son is in ROTC and is going to vote for Romney this year along with dad, They both see the cliff this country is headed for. They can't believe that I'm such an idiot. and once again pleaded with me to get a job. I'm not invited to thanksgiving with his family this year, but mom is going. I hate Christians. I hate my family. But I'll lie until I find out that I've been written out of Mom's will.

I heard on the radio this past week that Barry has a lock on only 7 states!
Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Colorado, and even Michigan are now "in play", or trending Romney.

I hope Barry can close the deal on his new digs in Hawaii by the end of the year.  I don't want him to be "homeless".   :lmao:

When obama moves into his new digs in Hawaii, after his backers abandon him because he will be more useless than Carter...How long before the foreclosure comes?

That wouldn't surprise me a whole lot.  These people were sold Super King-size Big Gulps of the kool-aide and they downed 'em and asked for more.  Debate #1 was a major shock.  The media couldn't hide it.  If Romney spanks him again, it's over for the Obumbler.

Carl, we're in the same district!  I don't see a single Owens sign.  It's like he's not bothering to campaign.  No mailings, no signs, no speeches, no downtown HQ, no nothing.  Bill who?  Doheny signs blanketing the place.  Bill did participate in a debate; I saw a snippet on TV.  He mumbled a rambly sort of answer.

Honestly I have no confidence in the polls either way at this point.  Their sampling is flawed, but worse, their modeling of turnout is both proprietary to each one (And therefore an inscrutable black box in each case) and highly speculative since there isn't an on-point historical election on which to base the model.  I think Romney is doing better than most of the polls suggest, but I can only look at my own region on that for visible evidence.

I went to my brother in laws yesterday...drove 65 miles, through 3 different counties in NE Florida, they were all country roads. I decided to count the Romney/Ryan and obama/Biden signs....I was shocked at the count...R/R= 21 signs.....O/B=2 signs....

My husband and I  hope the election goes the same way the signs went.
