Florida Passes Plan For Racially-Based Academic Goals

Quote
Palm Beach, Fla. (CBS TAMPA) – The Florida State Board of Education passed a plan that sets goals for students in math and reading based upon their race.

On Tuesday, the board passed a revised strategic plan that says that by 2018, it wants 90 percent of Asian students, 88 percent of white students, 81 percent of Hispanics and 74 percent of black students to be reading at or above grade level. For math, the goals are 92 percent of Asian kids to be proficient, whites at 86 percent, Hispanics at 80 percent and blacks at 74 percent. It also measures by other groupings, such as poverty and disabilities, reported the Palm Beach Post.

WOW..the liberals just keep proving what they believe.   DUmmies pay attention...They think blacks are stupid so you have to lower the standards to give them their fair shake in life.

I guess they thought we were kidding when we kept telling them they were dumbing down our education system...Well here it is guys in black and white. See for yourselves.

I guess it's true about soft racism of lowered expectations.

What are they saying?  Asians have superior knowledge and blacks are on the bottom?  It's not only racist, it's flat out wrong. We are all individuals with some having more book smarts than others and it has nothing to do with race.  I would like to know what black Americans like Thomas Sowell and Condi Rice thinks of this.

It's also about parents taking responsibility for their kids, and a much different study/work ethic.

Dori, that's pretty well documented. In 1994 the book "The Bell Curve" came out. The book said that, as a group, Asian American students scored higher than white students, who scored higher than Hispanic students, who scored higher than black students.

That's not saying that Asians are smarter than blacks, only that as groups, Asians scored higher.

IMHO, the results have more to do with family structure than race.

God alone suffices.

Yep It boils down to family responsibility, study and work ethics.

The liberals keep pushing their agenda of abortion and single parents. Their moral decline is what has led to them bringing about  programs that keep the black people down. Guess those liberal plantation owners have to keep finding ways to keep the slaves in check. If they truly wanted to set these people free, they would demand they stand on their own two feet, work. study and strive to compete with EVERYONE to get ahead and make something of themselves.

But the liberal programs always fine a way to make sure the poor/black people don't have top work to get what the liberals think they need/want and it makes the poor/black lazy and gives them no initiative to do better for themselves.

The saying "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a life time."

The schools should be teaching the kids of all races to learn to stand on their own and not that they should expect special consideration, because of their race they aren't smart enough to do it alone.

The problem is that these are treated AS GROUPS.......I know many individual blacks who are members of Mensa. I don't think it's an intellectual difference as much as a cultural one.

And when that book came out, it was to howls of "Racist!" directed at the author. He should sue all of those who said that about him for slander, saying the state of FL has proven him right.
