I think the debate was awful, Biden came across as an ass, he lied about Benghazi, his votes on Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Moderator didn't challenge him.

And listening to Steve Haynes now, he's saying that all people are talking about is Biden's demeanor and that's not good, also saying that he charged up his base.

Yeah OK he charged up a bunch of people who'll refuse to acknowledge that Biden lied BUT they don't need the base, the base will vote for them no matter what, they needed the Independents and Biden lost them. I just showed my non-political Husband the GOP Ad of Biden laughing, he said Biden looks like an idiot.

I agree. And that base is the 47 percent in many cases that Romney eluded to back in that infamous comment. We can't change the minds of 40 year old children And the assorted mental patients that seem inhabit the very liberal section of dems

The very real impression I had when Biden was spewing his shit was that he was pulling numbers out of his ass. Smelly, stinky numbers that probably had no basis in fact.

I suspect the fact checkers are going to have a field day with Biden's "data" and while Ryan wasn't quite as sharp as I thought he'd be, his decorum was head and shoulders above Biden's.

But yeah, I'm in agreement with ballyg - the lib base might be charged up, but so what? Winning over the undecided is the expressed goal of debates, and in that capacity Biden failed miserably.

I'm surprised someone hasn't photoshopped white skin, green hair on Biden...

Seriously, that's the only thing I can remember of the debate.  :mental:

Would've liked to seen Ryan be more... memorable, but I'm not sure how anybody could be more memorable than Joeker without jumping on the table and stripping.

It wasn't Ryan's best moment, but IMO, Biden's behavior threw him off his game.  To be fair, it would've thrown off nearly everyone.

FFS, Biden was laughing even as he talked about his personal religious beliefs & family.

My take on it all.

Ryan didn't win the debate. He was pretty tame and didn't make any lasting impressions. Ryan held his own and didn't do any damage to the RR campaign.

Biden, on the other hand, lost the debate. His constant interruptions became the focal point. Only the 17% moonbat  electorate believes him to be the winner. I think(hope) that it will cost a couple of points in the polls.

All in all, as stated above, I don't think that Ryan won, bit then I don't think that he lost it either. That is a good thing.

Ryan didn't have a chance, imo. His decorum was above reproach, while Biden was laughing like a hyena!! The moderator didnt help much either, the liberal twit!!!

You know, I think the Dem strategy was to purposely have Joe cash in his free pass on semi-demented behavioral history and be a total asshole to Ryan, in hopes of provoking some kind of angry outburst from our guy, which (If it had happened) would have been all the news today, with all the headlines proclaiming how Ryan was screaming like a maniac at poor old crazy Joe, and so is unsuited to be 'A heartbeat away.'

I think Ryan played his cards well in avoiding that trap, no matter how much those of us in his base would have preferred some red meat.

That's the way I see it. In the long run Biden's antics might be viewed by Independents/uncommitted as disrespectfull and rude.

Mrs. Genachowski should be barred from moderating any future debates.  She was terrible.

Chris Matthews wanted an "MSNBC debate".  Well, he got one, at least from Joe Biden.

The bias throughout the entire "debate" was disgusting.

One comment I read that was funny as hell concerned the TV light technicians - they had failed to get a light reading when Biden flashed his choppers. Four of the six cameras flamed out and broke down.   :lmao:

Ignoring everything about the substance of the debate, let us ask this question: with whom do we feel more comfortable as the man who is a "heartbeat" away from the presidency?

The growling, grinning, squinting, fantasizing, and occasionally spewing septuagenarian, or the calmer, reasonable, venomless, well-mannered 40-something?

Good point plus the liberal media had a bone of contention with VP Cheney's health problems but absolutely none with Biden having had (2) brain surgeries.

I think one of the best favors Ryan did for the ticket was showing how calm and reasoned he was while surrounded by an Ooompa Loompa on a very bad acid trip and a woman who, apparently, left her flying monkeys at home. If he can keep from getting rattled surrounded by all that 50 layers of crazy, Ahmunutjob and the other mullah's in Iran certainly won't either. I just hope Ryan got his rabies shot. I think I'd get some antibiotics today just in case. Lot of spittle flying around, never know where it's been.

Catholic Bishops Expose Biden's Lies
« Reply #368 on: October 12, 2012, 07:29:49 PM »
Good point plus the liberal media had a bone of contention with VP Cheney's health problems but absolutely none with Biden having had (2) brain surgeries.

So is it the brain surgery or just natural mendacity at work, when Biden the Bully shouts "That is a FACT!  That is a FACT!" ???

Last night he said:

Quote
With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear. No religious institution — Catholic or otherwise, including Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital — none has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact.

My emphasis above.

The Catholic bishops today exposed this "FACT" as a LIE!

Quote
This is not a fact. The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for certain “religious employers.” That exemption was made final in February and does not extend to “Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital,” or any other religious charity that offers its services to all, regardless of the faith of those served.

HHS has proposed an additional “accommodation” for religious organizations like these, which HHS itself describes as “non-exempt.” That proposal does not even potentially relieve these organizations from the obligation “to pay for contraception” and “to be a vehicle to get contraception.” They will have to serve as a vehicle, because they will still be forced to provide their employees with health coverage, and that coverage will still have to include sterilization, contraception, and abortifacients. They will have to pay for these things, because the premiums that the organizations (and their employees) are required to pay will still be applied, along with other funds, to cover the cost of these drugs and surgeries.

My emphasis above:

See also:

The Catholic Church is too diplomatic these days, and good old excommunication is barely mentioned.  All I can say is that the putative Catholic Biden has excommunicated himself by his decades-long support of infanticide: when you support things inimical to the religion you supposedly believe in, you are no longer really part of that religion, even if you do show up on Sundays to ensure that you get Catholic votes from the unthinking...or from other pseudo-Catholics like you.
