Disappointed in the DUmmies, re: Columbus Day.
« on: October 07, 2012, 10:40:47 PM »
Monday, October 8, 2012 is Columbus Day.  I have yet to see the usual threads bashing the holiday over at the DUmp.  Have I missed them?

I actually have a friend on Facebook that was off last year yet still went into "hate Columbus Day" post although he did acknowledge he liked the day off.

I've seen a couple of snarky posts, one stating, "I will not be celebrating the genocide of Native Americans", or words to that effect. No threads dedicated exclusively to bashing the Evil White Man yet, though. I'm sure they're coming, however, that being a cherished DU tradition.

Here you go.  It's a weak start, but the DUmmies are just getting up, being awakened by the light coming through their parents' basement windows.

More will be getting up soon.  The few that have jobs will be posting from work rather than working, all the while bemoaning what a miserable job they have - no "living wage", no benefits, surrounded by "rethugs", converting "rethugs" - and their miserable lives - having to go to a celebration at the homes of "rethug" relatives - the daily drivel that they seem to wallow in.
This too shall pass.

Not well.

Sen. Brown holds a substantial 27 point lead over Warren among independent voters. Contrary to popular belief, it is independent voters, not Democrats, who make up the biggest voting block in Massachusetts. In a race as close as this, experts believe that it is the undecided voters who will be picking the winner.

I am still trying to figure out why we are celebrating the birthday of a man for discovering America, when he didn't discover America.

Umm, we aren't celebrating his birthday, KR.  October 12th was the day he landed in "America".

Quote
In April 1934, as a result of lobbying by the Knights of Columbus, Congress and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt made October 12 a federal holiday under the name Columbus Day

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

Most of my friends from IL became silent on facebook after the debate. One yahoo posted a picture of Big Bird/Big Turd with Mitt being the second.
I posted that Big Bird is a millionare, part of the 1% and no longer needs to live in Section 8....since then it's been crickets...

Even a guy that claims to be a community organizer...is so very quiet...

So I just can't help myself by tagging them in my posts...lol
