If thats true, maybe Obama is doing okay.

   On Wednesday night, Nevadans watched Mr. Romney trounce the president," wrote the editors of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, applauding Romney's "pro-growth tax and regulatory" and calling President Barack Obama "openly hostile to free-market capitalism." The paper echoed a recent Romney campaign attack ad, citing Obama's "you didn't build that" comments. Many other news outlets have criticized Romney for taking the line out of context.

   The Omaha World-Herald, meanwhile, accused Obama of engaging in "class warfare" and of "lack the management skill necessary to run government.

   While Nebraska is rarely included in the list of key swing states in the presidential election -- the overall state vote has been reliably Republican for decades -- the unusual way in which the state calculates its electoral votes makes it a viable play for Obama.

This story is about newspaper endorsements, but the way they report this stuff is bullshit...unless I'm missing something.

He carried Omaha in 2008, but that was fluke; people in Nebraska just weren't very excited about McCain and stayed home.

The (R) running for the House in the bluest part of Omaha is polling 58-41% over the (D).

And Barack Milhous is going to get a much lower percentage of the vote in Nebraska than he did in 2008.

My sister tells me Omaha is much more liberal then the rest of Nebraska.

I know I have an old classmate, retired Navy, that now works for the SBA in Omaha. His posts on Facebook read like something I would see on DU....

The two (R) congressmen outside of Omaha pretty much locked up with 70% or more of the vote--and yes, even in Lincoln, which at times can be bluer than Omaha.

The (R) candidate for the U.S. Senate ahead of Kerrey by 10+% since the race started, and it's not narrowing any.

The (R) congressman in Omaha enjoying the widest, most-comfortable, lead he's ever had in his races, 58-41%; some of them have been real nail-biters, but not this one.

The only way Nebraska is a swing state is because they are still spinning from the defeat that Ohio State laid on them last week with a score of 63-38. Omaha and some small parts of the state might be blue the the ENTIRE state is as RED as it can get and that is not even taking into account the colors of the Husker football team. People out here are mostly Conservative and have always been that way. The is a saying in Nebraska, "Don't spook the cows" . If anything The Magic Negro has more then spooked the cows with his economic and foreign policies and one can bet that is more then enough to upset Jack and Jill Farmer who not only vote but will vote to get rid of Obama.

I know when I was a younger lad, DimBulbs were Red, and we were Blue.

Reason I suppose, was that back in the day of the commie purge by McCarthy, all the stinkin' reds were demonRats! I'm thinkin' even though McCarthy was pretty much a little over the top, he sure seems to be right.

It hasn't been that many years since they switched colors. I'm thinkin' it was during the Clintoon fiasco!

Yep, you've got the reasoning right. I thought it was a 2000 thing, too, but I saw not too long ago (I think it was here, actually) that the big switcheroo happened in 1992.
