The Florida ballot is designed to screw us -- again

The Republican dicks that run Tallahassee are at it again.

This year's Florida ballot is six pages long and has 11 amendments on it. Anyone who walks into a voting booth without a crib sheet had better take a chair with them. And even then, I defy most people to understand what each amendment means. The purpose, of course, is to make sure the voting lines are a mile long. And you just know that there will be a limited number of voting machines in highly Democratic districts.

I received my absentee ballot this week and spent an hour trying to make sense out of just the first two amendments. The solution finally came to me. I called the League of Women's Voters and also my local Democratic Party reps. Both told me to vote no on all 11 amendments, so I did.

The bottom line is that the Republican Party does not believe in fair elections. Hopefully, the changing demographics of the country will doom their corrupt, rotting party to the ash heap of history. (And hopefully, Allen West will be thrown on that ash heap during this election.)

What a cry baby, if you can't bothered to read what's on the ballot you have NO business voting in the first place.

In some countries you can be killed for voting, yet in this country we whine and complain if we have to stand in line or the ballot is too long. Grow the hell up is what I say.

2. We discussed this very topic at dinner last night

And voting no on the amendments is indeed, the best way to go. Clearly this is another attempt to make it more difficult for people to vote. Living in Florida can be very challenging - especially this time of year.

So now amendments are suppressing the voters.  :mental:

What do you think black folks are too stupid to read a ballot? Damn racists.

4. Yep, No on ALL the Amendments

with a Republican Governor and Republican controlled legislature, NO is the safest bet on anything they propose.

See, that is another nice reason to vote absentee. You can take as much time as you want; read the amendments, look up info on the Net., etc. No need to rush anything.

Where I live, all the locals running are Republican against Republican. VERY EASY. Not voting for any of them.

I realize that taking responsibility and actually reading the sample ballots before you go to vote is out of the question. It's like too hard man, pass me another doobie.  :mental:
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Well, I guess that means I have to vote "YES" on all the amendments, because the League of Women's Voters and the Democratic Party reps said so.

This must be those low-information, easily-led voters who are constantly voting against their own best interests that we keep hearing about from DU.

Taking my cheat-sheet out of my pocket and placing it on the voting machine podium.  :-)
Why don't the DUmmies read up on the amendments before going to the polls?
Oh, that's right. Other groups tell them how to vote.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I assume the OP was referring to the messed up butterfly ballot that almost allowed Gore to steal the election from President Bush.  If so, that was a DemonRat designed ballot.

I haven't looked at them yet, I do know that on hate radio they run ads in support of 4, but anyone could be behind that, so I'm going to read up on the amendments and go from there. I do know I'm voting for Mitt Romney, Connie Mack, and Steve Sutherland (congress).

Question.

Does the League of Women Voters endorse candidates and issues?

I'm not so sure they do.

I'm detecting a fib from Cryano here.

They do back issues, and I think they backed ObamaCare.

I imagine they did. I hate to say it, but odds are any woman's group is probably a liberal group. I know there are exceptions, but it seems that most are liberal.

They started in Chicago in 1920 so that's one clue.  :-)

Quote
The league promoted the passage of the Clean Water Act of 1987 and Kyoto Protocol.[13] The League supported the Climate Security Act of 2008 (cap and trade) and policies that limit reliance on nuclear fission.[14] The league opposes the proposed Keystone Pipeline project.[15]

Quote
The league has worked on a broad range of activities under the rubric of "Social Policy" including ending racial discrimination, providing equal access to quality education, fair housing, health care, and gun control. The League of Women Voters of the United States supports the abolition of the death penalty.[19]

Quote
The League opposed the Medicare Prescription Drug bill but celebrated the success of the Affordable Care Act.[20] The League supports a general income tax increase to finance national health care reform for the inclusion of reproductive health care, including abortion, in any health benefits package.[20] The League strongly opposed the passage of the Partial-Birth Abortion Act.[20] The League actively opposed welfare reform legislation proposed in the 104th Congress.[21]

Yep DUmmies need someone to tell them what to think.

If Mitt Romney called me personally and told me to vote YES on the amendments I would still research them and decide for myself.

Everyone who goes into a voting booth in Florida should read each of the amendments carefully, then go back and read each one a second time, and reflect for a few minutes on what its impact might be if passed.

Then spend a few more minutes on each one carefully considering both the pros and the cons of passage. Only then should a vote be cast the first amendment.

This careful consideration should be repeated on each of the remaining ten amendments.

Remember, there is no limit on how much time you can take to cast your ballot.

The longer you occupy the voting booth the fewer less-conscientious voters can be accommodated.

In kalifornia I know the League of Women's Voters does indorse issues, candidates not sure of.

When I was growing up the League of Women's Voters was non partisan and had both republicans and democrats. Now they are one in the same as the democrat party. Not one difference in their recommendations on propositions from the donks.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

That is why you get a sample ballot in the mail so you can read it before you vote. I know it's a long walk from the trailer in mom's back yard to her mail box, but that is what you need to do DUmmy....
