The Washington Post fact-checker gave four Pinochios (the equivalent of a big lie) to the accusation that Obama supported redistribution of wealth in a 1998 video. The fact-checker points to the full, unedited video, and redistribution of wealth is not mentioned in these comments, according to the Fact-checker.

Here's the part missing from the clipped Youtube version:

How do we pool resources at the same time as we decentralize delivery systems in ways that both foster competition, can work in the marketplace, and can foster innovation at the local level and can be tailored to particular communities.”

I don't think we need a video tape to know that Obama wants to take our money away.

If an eyewitness at the scene is needed, Joe the plumber would be happy to testify.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

In addition, the next day he was heard to ask for mustard on his hot dog.  This statement, which clearly shows he is not a redistributionist, was also edited from his remarks.

“As we think about the policy research surrounding the issues that I just named — policy research for the working poor, broadly defined — I think that what we're gonna have to do is somehow  resuscitate the notion that government action can be effective at all. There has been a systematic, I don't think it's too strong to call it a propaganda campaign, against the possibility of government action and its efficacy. And I think some of it has been deserved. Chicago Housing Authority has not been a model of good policy making. And neither necessarily have been the Chicago public schools. What that means then is that as we try to resuscitate this notion that we're all in this thing together, leave nobody behind, we do have to be innovative in thinking how, what are the delivery systems that are actually effective and meet people where they live, and my suggestion I guess would be that the trick, and this is one of the few areas where I think there have to be technical issues that have to be dealt with as opposed to  just political issues, how do we structure government systems that pool resources and hence facilitate some redistribution, because I actually believe in redistribution, at least at a certain level to make sure that everybody's got a shot. How do we pool resources at the same time as we decentralize delivery systems in ways that both foster competition, can work in the marketplace, and can foster innovation at the local level and can be tailored to particular communities.”

Well WaPo fact checker dude, I am having a hard time reading this as anything but how it was presented by the Romney campaign.  The context is crystal clear to anyone with two functioning brain cells.

Share the wealth baby, and let's be creative about it.   Mmmmkay?

According to the "Washington Post Factcheckers" the Soviet Union won the Cold War by a field goal.

It is a sad situation when media "fact" checkers intentionally ignore facts and lie to benefit their candidate-of-choice.  It's an even sadder situation that so much of the US simply takes their word for it.   :mental:

"Washington Post fact-checker."  It is to laugh.  That's like having an ombudsman's office in Eichmann's department.

They don't fit together, period.

A fact checker that doesn't actually check facts, is about as useful as a news reporter that doesn't check and verify sources. Jayson Blair anyone ?

"...because I actually believe in redistribution, at least at a certain level..." That level does not include the DUmmies, Obama and friends. You and I however are to be screwed.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948
