Dems ready to gain another house seat? NC Dem already polling even in heavy GOP district.
Poll shows dead heat in NC 9th Congressional District
Jennifer Roberts running strong among key group of unaffiliated voters
A new poll of likely voters in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District shows the race as a dead heat between Jennifer Roberts and Robert Pittenger. The poll, commissioned by Lake Research Partners, surveyed 400 likely voters from September 9-11.
Jennifer Roberts’ strength among unaffiliated voters provides her with a clear path to victory in this district where registered Republicans make up 42% of likely voters and Democrats make up 30% of likely voters, with unaffiliated voters at 28%.
The poll of likely voters in Mecklenburg, Union and Iredell counties shows Jennifer Roberts with 37 percent support and Robert Pittenger with 38 percent, with 22 percent undecided and Libertarian Curtis Campbell with 3 percent.
>>>
Major findings of the poll include:
Jennifer Roberts’ base of support is as strong and large as Pittenger’s, 30% of voters say they strongly support Pittenger and 31% say they strongly support Roberts.
Jennifer Roberts is particularly strong in Mecklenburg County, where she is leading Pittenger 42% to 33%.
Unaffiliated voters make up 28 percent of likely voters and favor Roberts by 12 percentage points, 41% to 29%.
Methodology: Lake Research Partners designed and administered this telephone survey, using professional interviewers, with 407 likely November voters in NC-09. The survey was conducted September 9-11, 2012. Telephone numbers for the sample were generated from a list of registered voters in North Carolina. The margin of error for the total sample is +/- 4.86 percentage points and greater for sub-groups.
We can take this one, too, especially since the Dem Convention helped put this area on the map!

Uh, question.
Didn't Romney jump six points into the lead in North Carolina after the Democrat bacchanalia?
Whatever.

1. The question.
Is, if she wins, which I hope and pray she does, will many on DU turn red faced and call her a "blue-dog" through clenched teeth and locked jaws? To me, any democrat is better than a republican, ANY democrat. The debacle after the 2010 elections has shown that to be a truism.

4. She is NOT a blue-dog. She's very progressive - knows how to take a stand and knows how to negotiate and knows when the best deal she can get to move forward is ON the table.

2. I pray to the new baby panda that she wins, with Obamafire happening in NC
I can see it happening. This is the race I wanted to see win.

6. We need to go all out on this one in NC. It will be a HUGE win. If we can get Jennifer in, then Obama will likely be coming out on top in NC, too. And all that gerrymandering the GOPs did to get rid of some of our best Dem congressmen will be blunted.
Uh, what about Barack Milhous's -6 post-convention "bump" in North Carolina?

5. I sent her ten bucks the other night. k&r
Another one of you Carolinians was giving a shout out for her.
Good luck!
Anybody from North Carolina, or familiar with North Carolina, have any insight on this?
Also, does one suppose the bowel movement primitive's a transplanted northerner who, finding conditions in its native blue state intolerable, moved to a red state where life was better, and is now voting to change it into like the old homeplace was, the place it ran away from?
