Yes on 37 and Occupy

so yesterday was the one year anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement. You all know of cops going to town in sundry list of places, including New York City. There were arrests and all, (and forced me to take all the photo equipment and not just a single lens... more on that later)

So at the 10th avenue, at Canvas for a Cause, you had about seventy people get together (By the time the rally was over you had 120 number... people came and went, suffice it to say, fifty in San Diego, on a Monday afternoon is remarkable)...

So during conversations and interviews we did learn something interesting, that the supporters of Occupy here will sing hosannahs and understand... suffice it to say, this is like Congress agreeing on something and passing it. Occupy SD General Assembly reached Consensus on Yes on 37. They still (as a group) do not endorse candidates (there are good reasons for that)... but there you have it.

By extension this also means, that if you are going yes on 37, the old canard that they will not vote goes away... your support requires you to vote. Locally that is very important.

I just thought that was an interesting thing, that caught my ear, since damn it, I have been told by so many here, they don't vote (some will not), and damn it, they do not participate in the process... (But a local man is suing for false arrest for registering voters)

Now will include the few photos, I have posted so far, at the facebook. Work takes a lot of time... and will include our "occupy Hawk) That was one good thing for the lens. The other, if you heard that they were holding traffic since they were over the 163... well, I will be glad to post the accident photos, on the 163... yup, I changed the lens that fast.

Oh and San Diego, had just a warning issued to a photographer by the CHP... otherwise, for a change, no problems with the cops.

This was one of the very few times my speculations about how a primitive looks in real life was wrong, way wrong.

Lots going on up here in L.A., too. Despite the "Occupy is dead" pronouncements (medical malpractice, if you ask me ), there are actions going on constantly here. Occupy Fights Foreclosures, Monsanto protests, bank protests, police brutality/police shootings/killings protests, Wal-Mart protests, you name it.

As you know, I'm 2 hours away from Union Station by Metrolink, so it takes me 2 1/2-4 hours to get to the site of an action and I don't get down there as often as I'd like. But even when I can't be there, I live vicariously through the reports from our own Fire Walk With Me. (A good man, and one with whom I'm proud to joined in more than a few L.A. actions.)

I love seeing your reports on the SD actions, too, and the pics are great. Keep up the good work!

Suffice it to say but 120 people in San Diego out of a population around 3.1 million for San Diego county is dead.
Occupy Greensboro (population for the triangle region of NC ~1.6 million) has about 6 active members that get together in some rundown used book store to watch 'Gas land' every other week.
Occupy Raleigh (area population ~1.8 million) has 5 or 6 active members. Suffice it to say they're dead too.
Occupy Chapel Hill split into two separate occupy movements with 2 people in one group and three in the other.

They love to talk about the 'Occupy' groups all over the country but suffice it to say the Campfire Girls outnumber them by about 1,000 to 1.

Looking at her is like looking at one of those altered videos where you can make the person look really tiny, and massively obese. She's the funniest little thing I've ever seen in a bad way. With all her knowledge, does anyone suppose her brain is in her torso, and her stomach is in her head?
