I live in the ultra-liberal San Francisco Bay Area and by most blue states accounts I am probably a moderate, some might even call me a rino, but I have never, and I mean NEVER met a hardcore-democrat that had more than a TOKEN Republican friend let alone 5.

Well, gosh, I'm a "token" to my liberal friends? And here I thought there was more to our relationships that political views. My best friend is gay (we became friends in college down in the Bay area and he's like a brother to me). He knows more about me (and vice versa) than anyone else. Another friend, I've known since 7th grade, she's a disaster when it comes to picking boyfriends and husbands but is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. We have so much fun together I can't imagine my life without her. After all this time we still love getting in trouble together. And then there's my friend here in Cottage Grove who owns the feed store. She thinks Move On Oregon is an unbiased news source. But we had an instant connection. Except for political opinions we love the same hobbies, have the same tastes, even share many just general "life" philosophies.

Maybe you just don't meet the right people. I've lived in northern CA and Oregon my entire life, liberals are woven into the fabric here. You don't have to talk politics. I rarely do because my friendships are based on more meaningful things.

I know at least a dozen or more democrats that will either not vote or vote against 0bama. Two of them are teachers and their spouses , two are other union members and their spouses, three others are under 25. The others are republicans and voted against Bush last time. Now they know what a bad decision that was. I live in the only county in kalifornia that went against prop 8, so that tell you how flaming commie we are. It will not matter because the commies, eco-fascists, illegals, and public employee unions will hand any communist the election. However, if this is happening here, it must be a landslide in other sane states. The ones that turned the nation red except here and in illinois.

I may have to up my senate prediction to 56/44.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

A friend of mine, who is a Democrat, just recently "liked" Paul Ryan on FB.

Back in 2008, I half-jokingly gave him a McCain/Palin sticker for his car. He told me there was no way he'd vote for Zero.

His wife is of the same mindset as him.
