Bought one.  1987.  From Wal-Mart.  $376.xx over the counter.  A very good shooter.  I've put well over 2000 Rnds. through it.  One stovepipe malfunction/failure to completely eject.  Cleared and back shooting in less than 4 seconds.

That's what I did.  Guy came to me at lunch and said: "You'll never believe what Wal-Mart has...a CAR-15! 

I ran over there as fast as the truck would take me a plopped down a $100.00 and put it on layaway.

The one on the right was a Colt. The one in the middle, can't remember. The one on the left was made by the company that bought out Bushmaster. The one to the left of that is a Ruger Mini-14, IIRC.

The only thing we sell is ammo.........it must be a regional thing. They stopped selling firearms,,because it wasn'tt a big money maker.......

WalMart in California got slapped by the ATF for doing shady transactions in a bunch of stores. They surrendered their FFL in a bunch more of their stores. Finding one that still sells guns is rare.

That was what the problem came from. The store had the license and then anyone could sell a gun that worked there. No training or perpetuated bad training got them in trouble. They surrendered a huge percentage of their licenses nationwide to get the BATFE off their asses.
