Are we witnessing the end of the GOP?

After the last two nights, how could anybody with one foot in reality vote republican?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021280984

People that still love, and respect the United States and it's founding principles will have no problem voting against B. Hussein Obama.

Better people than Obama have tried to finish off the GOP.

Yes, they are.  They use logic, sanity , reasoning as well as compassion, whereas leftists are confined to feelings and envy.

Like clockwork.  Every four years they proclaim that the GOP is on death's door. Then it somehow doesn't die and the same idiots make the same stupid prediction four years after that. It's an endless cycle of idiocy.

This is a chilling post. It reminds me about an on the record conversation remark by unrepentant domestic terrorist Bill Ayres. He was parroting Marxist revolutionary dogma regarding post revolution disposition of the vanquished. Up to a quarter of the vanquished, those deemed to have no aptitude for reeducation, are slated for immediate truncation.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

The primitives have been saying this every two years, not just presidential election years.

Their forebears said it all the time, going clear back to the Beginning.

In 1892, after the Republicans were decimated; "the GOP is dead."
In 1894, the largest gains in congressional seats in history, by the GOP.

In 1912, after the Republicans ran third in a three-way race; "the GOP is dead."
In 1914, remarkable gains in congressional seats, by the GOP.

In 1932, after the Reaganesque Rooseveltian landslide; "the GOP is dead."

In 1936, after the even bigger Reaganesque Rooseveltian landslide; "the GOP is definitely dead."
In 1938, the second-largest gains in congressional seats in history, by the GOP.

In 1964, after the Reaganesque Johnsonian landslide; "the GOP is finished."
In 1966, remarkable gains in congressional and gubernatorial seats, by the GOP.

In 1974, after the Reaganesque Democrat congressional landslide; "the GOP is dead."
In 1976, recapture of much that had been lost in Congress, by the GOP.

In 1992, after the Democrat presidential win in a three-way race, "the GOP is dead."
In 1994, the taking of both Houses of Congress for the first time in 42 years, by the GOP.

In 2006, after the Democrats re-took both Houses of Congress, "the GOP is dead."

In 2008, after Barack Milhous wins the White House; "the GOP is dead."
In 2010, the third-largest gains--and recapture of the House--in history; "the GOP is dead."

(The years in between, the GOP essentially stayed even or even flourished.)

We've got more lives than a damned cat does.

Too bad for the primitives.

That's how they know the GOP steals elections.

I'm still waiting--after twelve long years--to hear from the primitives about how Republicans "steal" elections.

Republicans don't steal elections, because we don't have the means, the tools, to do so.

The Democrats, on the other hand, have a whole array of tools, beginning with the big-city machines that create votes out of thin air.....

Truth be told, it will be the Democrat Party who is gone before the Republicans. It all comes down to this simple reason: The Republicans are for capitalism, and the Democrats are for Socialism.....And socialism only works until you run out of other peoples money.

Le'see.....the Republican convention was a triumph (thanks be to Clint Eastwood  O-)).  It was a rousing tribute to a party steeped in patriotism, love of God, maturity, and the promise of America.

The Socialist convention is a chaotic mess with Satan's minions filling the seats, the ghosts of dead babies haunting the stage, sodomites and perverts providing the script, and godless empty vessels manning the podium......

Yep, the Republicans are goin' down!

It's like theoretical physics to them.

They have not isolated some particle-wave, described a mechanism or discerned a formula.

They just observe an effect and postulate a cause.

Why do you think that sci-fi thread of theirs revealed how many of them want to turn their daydreams into governing policy?

10. I was monitoring CSPAN's twitter scrawl......

.....updating every ten seconds or so it pretty much jumped from an earlier rate of about 50/50 to about 75% or more right wing trolls! That twitter scrawl was a freeperpaloza on steroids throughout President Clinton's speech.

Bottom line, they simply refuse to accept facts, there are millions of these guys and the sucky part is that they vote!

Ha ha!

And just because you're participating on a thread, open to the general public, doesn't make you a "troll."

15. Nope. If we win it will be by less than we did in 2008. At that time the demise of the GOP

was announced here prominently. Then 2010 happened. At that time I told a story about my father, a long time Berkley hippie (and proud of it, graduated from Berkley High in 1968) that happened in 1980. After the election, he told me (10 at the time) "You are lucky because all the Republicans are dying off and you won't have the GOP around when you can vote". 8 years later he was a born again christian and big Bush supporter. Has been voting straight R ever since. The GOP, in some form, will be with us for a long, long time.

Yup.  The GOP is imploding, genius. I'd be surprised if rMoney makes it all the way to November.  The Rethuglikkkans are so deep in their death throes that there's no need for you to even go out to vote for Obama in 65 days.  He'll just get 100% of the Electoral College when rMoney rolls over about October 15th.

I'm amazed I was able to type this with a straight face.  :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

People that think they are really smart are the easiest to fool. The DUches think they are really, really smart.

When it is an all GOP government they are going to shit themselves.

I assume they are talking about the accused rapist and impeached president Clinton's speech. Man, there were so many lies in that I lost track but the whopper told by the convicted liar about health care premiums after the Obama TaxCare passing only up 3% was one of the biggest.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Well, for one thing, based on ratings, the TV audience was miniscule - maybe less than one percent of the electorate.

For another thing, you would have to be a hard core, drooling Stalinist to tolerate two nights of that screeching, screaming demagoguery.

It seemed that every speaker was auditioning to become the next rising black star, the main qualification being bellowing indignation.

A very tiny segment of the TV audience would have been that flaky, learning-disabled subset, the "undecided independent".

They were surely tuned in to "Big Brother" or "So You Think You Can Dance".

During Willie Jeff's interminable address, nearly all normal people were watching the Giants and Cowboys.

So, DUmmy, like it or not, nearly everyone with either one or both feet in reality will vote Republican.

Can't wait to see how they twist themselves in knots trying to convince themselves it's possible to cheat with a landslide.

They'll twist themselves in knots because they'll know how much THEY cheated, and still lost in a landslide.

I think they think this is so absolutely certain that the election would just be a waste of time and money so it would probably be more efficient for all concerned that they should just cancel the election altogether.

I really hope they can still post after November because the DOTY is on the line and we need good candidates to enter.

I have a feeling that at least one contender will arise solely from the post-election angst and limb-wringing.
