The closest thing I've
ever seen was when my youngest became impatient in a Wal-Mart line because the family ahead of us sent someone back 3 times to change one item for another. When my kid grumbled, I explained quickly how WIC works, and that it can be pretty difficult to figure out what is "ok" and what is not, especially the first time someone gets those checks.
The older woman with the kids, I suppose their grandmother, overheard and smiled at me, made some comment of apology. I told her it was no big deal, had been through the same thing myself.
(Sorry, unlike
some people, I can't remember every word of a conversation.)
