The OP is rather long and worth replying to at-length but I became intrigued when I started reading the replies.

It is killing them.

Most of the replies are strictly, "Cuz he's black,LOLZ" but it seems there are too many Herman Cains, Artur Davis's and Allen Wests running around for that excuse to work much longer.

To say "He's black and Democrat" gives up the game. You might as well say, "They're OK with blacks so long as they're Republican!" which is the same as saying, "It's not the skin color, it's the ideology." Well, that ruins everything they've built up over the years!

If such a substantial portion of DU is compelled to recognize this--even grudgingly--then surely the Race Card has lost all value among the indie and moderate voters.

They don't want an election on the issues because they can't survive that kind of fight. So they want to make it about race but now it seems they can't even maintain that fiction amongst themselves.

Side note: All the A and B listers swarmed the thred to talk about race. Towards the end of the replies some people actually took the time to read the OP. It seems the need to scream racism pre-occupies the As and Bs, while the rest may actually be inquisitive.

Dummies need to realize the feel good voters of four years ago have been struck with great disappointment.

They are ready for a real change and it has nothing to do with skin color or in some cases political party. They want to send President Obama back to Chicago.
