What this election means for the Supreme Court...
« on: September 01, 2012, 07:44:17 AM »
Just a reminder...

Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election: appointments to the Supreme Court.

                                1. Justice Scalia just turned 78
                                2. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this yr.
                                3. Justice Breyer will be 76 in Aug
                                4. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a wk. ago. In addition, Justice
                                Ginsburg has Pancreatic Cancer.
5 Justice Stephens has already said he would retire & is just waiting for Obama to be re-elected.

The next president could appoint as many as 5 new Justices over the next 4 yrs., or over the next 8 yrs. if a new President gets a 2nd term. This election is about much more than the ObamaCare Tax.

If you want 5 truly conservative judges, it will be 2015 with luck before you can get them seated. NO MORE LIBERAL JUDGES.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
