Report: Clint Eastwood Headed to Tampa
« on: August 30, 2012, 04:44:57 AM »
Quote
It looks like the Republican convention will make superstar actor Clint Eastwood’s day. He’s headed to the confab or soon will be, a “well-placed Republican source” told Townhall.com.

The Oscar winner is no stranger to politics, having served as mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif., from 1986-88. The source said Eastwood will arrive in Tampa late Wednesday or early Thursday and will return to his southern California home Friday.

Speculation has grown that Eastwood will serve as the convention’s "mystery speaker" Thursday night. He endorsed Romney earlier this month and supported John McCain's presidential candidacy four years ago.

Unless he's planning on becoming the second coming of Ronaldus Magnus, of what value is giving an hour of already foreshortened valuable time to an aging actor with no serious political aspirations (in the present or future context).

This smells like a "Bread and Circuses" -type distraction to me, of the type I'd expect from the Dhimmi'Rats.  Romney and Ryan are already laser-focused on the core issue on the minds of the majority of Americans ("the ECONOMY, Stupid", for those in Rio Linda), and this appears to be a tremendous waste.

D6...I might agree with you but for one small point:

Clint Eastwood is pretty much the ONLY celebrity speaker at the RNC this year.  At the DNC, if you look at their schedule, that's pretty much ALL they have, because their politicians certainly can't be relied upon for an honest accounting of what they want America to become--they have to rely on a bunch of celebritards to give pretty sparkly ponies and flowery talks to hide the mess they've created.
