Yesterday afternoon I finally found the time to head to a theatre to see 2016 – Obama’s America, a movie based on Dinesh D’Sousa’s book “The Roots of Obama’s Rage.†In the book D’Sousa tried to determine just what was driving Dear Ruler’s rage (dare we say hatred?) against successful wealthy Nations and Americans?
Down here in South TX we allready have 5 theaters showing it. We're going tomorrow afternoon.
I wonder if they are going to show it online at all? I really want to see this movie.
Go to the theater so the makers get $$$ for it.
... I got out of work at lunch today and I thought I would just pop into the movie theater and watch the movie. The movie was at 12:20. I thought getting there right at noon would not matter. No one is going to be at some political film in the middle of the day. I was wrong. So wrong that I ended up sitting in one of the handicapped seats because the movie was already full when I arrived. I go to the movies almost every Friday after work. I have never been in a packed theater at noon. I went to The Avengers at noon and it wasn’t packed. What is going on? ...
They aren't showing it at theaters around me. Then I could always, maybe, go to Pittsburgh. That isn't too far away. Either way, I wish they would show it here. Edit: I just looked again, and they are showing it in my area (at two theaters). They must have updated it today, because last night there was nothing listed.
I'll have to see if it's showing around here. I may go see it on Sunday if it is.
It's showing at a Carmike theater here. Wasn't that theater chain in the news recently about bomb threats?
Now .. here’s the problem. The only people who will go see this movie are people who are already predisposed to vote for Romney. The vast majority of people who will vote for Obama are not voting for a particularly philosophy … they are voting for one simple reason: To get access to someone else’s wealth. They don’t care what Obama’s motives or reasons are. They care about one thing --- their checks – their money – their ObamaMoney. Here is the best way to use this movie. Get a friend who doesn’t vote; a friend who basically shares your political philosophy, but who doesn’t plan to vote because they feel their vote won’t count anyway. Take that friend to the movie. Offer then dinner before or after .. but somehow get them to that movie. This movie is so powerful it will take those “my vote won’t count†people and change them into “By God I’m going to MAKE my vote count†people. That may save our Republic.
"The nation that couldn’t be conquered by foreign enemies has been conquered by its elected officials" odawg Free Republic in reference to the GOP Elites who are no difference than the Democrats
Found it at 2 theaters near me. Will have to check it out.
Saw it Sat.. Very well done. Hopefully, my nightmares will end soon (Nov).
How did we get into each other's nightmare ? Whose nightmare is this anyway ? Although, I am pretty sure you are right about when the nightmare will end.
I saw “2016†at a local theater last night. I don’t know what lesson, if any, I can extrapolate from the audience’s reaction. But if you’ve seen this movie, or will be seeing it, I would appreciate knowing how your audience reacted to it.The auditorium at my theater was about 70-80% full on a Friday night. The audience was absolutely spellbound. There wasn’t as much as a whisper during the entire showing. Then, when it ended, there was muted applause. Not rowdy or raucus, but polite and appreciative.I interpreted the applause to mean that Obama is in trouble, at least here in Mesa, Ariz., if nowhere else. If you’re the kind of person who needs 100 reasons to vote against Obama, then this movie will give you 200 reasons. After seeing it, I would imagine that anyone who applauded it, was appreciative for its wisdom and not expressing thanks that it ended.I hadn’t seen or heard any mention of “2016†except for a few tv commercials. I knew it was about Obama and I feared the movie’s title was a reference to a secret plan to repeal the two-term limit for presidents, and thus enable Obama to seek election to a third term in 2016. Mercifully, the title was a subtle invitation to think what America will be like in 2016 when—and if—Obama finishes a second term. (Just had a thought: repealing the two-term limit would put Bill Clinton back into the game.)“2016†paints a much different portrait of Obama than we’re used to seeing. It theorizes that Obama’s political mindset is driven by anti-colonialism. It suggests that his 2008 election was an accident of history—a perfect storm, if you will—of a nation that was anxious to get rid of a Republican president and replace him with a “hope and change†candidate who gave the nation an opportunity to prove it isn’t a racist society. His election was made possible, the movie suggests, by a too-friendly, too-liberal news media that was abetted by too many voters who wanted to tell their unborn grandchildren that they voted for Obama.I was aware of most of the facts about Obama’s past, but like most I never really connected the dots. I knew about Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s anti-American diatribes from the pulpit of his South Side church, and Bill Ayers (described by Obama as “just a guy in the neighborhood†who bombed the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol and later served with Obama on the board of directors of the Chicago-based Woods Foundation. But I didn’t know that Obama’s mother practiced her own radicalism and was close to Frank Marshall Davis who was Obama’s mentor when he lived in Hawaii with his grandparents. I Googled Davis and found FBI documents that verified the movie’s claim that he was a Communist. The movie claims that Davis is mentioned a few dozen times as “Frank†(no last name given) in Obama’s “Dreams From My Father†autobiography. The movie provides a history lesson about British colonialism and its effect on Kenya where Obama’s father was born. But it also suggests that Obama never knew his father, and thus couldn’t have known about his father's dreams. The father left Obama’s mother when he was still an infant, and Obama met his father briefly when he was 10 years old. The movie suggests that “Dreams From My Father†is really “Dreams From My Mother.â€â€œ2016†is the first of two anti-Obama motion pictures. The next one comes from the same people whose anti-Hillary Clinton movie provoked the lawsuit that the U.S. Supreme Court unexpectedly used to overturn a 100-year-old law that kept corporations out of federal elections. Clips from the Citizen United movie were featured on Sean Hannity’s program Friday night. They were mostly interviews with people who voted for Obama in 2008 but are not planning to vote for him in 2012. Surprisingly, at least to me, is that Democratic speechwriter Pat Caddell is one of the Citizens United movie’s producers. The Citizens United movie will be playing in theaters. At the end of the Hannity program, there was a mention that the movie will be shown on television. Only a guess but would anyone be surprised if it was shown on the Fox network during the Democratic convention?
