No one to pick some crops (even as the drought decimates crops in other areas). Jobs go begging, even some paying up to $18.00 an hour.

No doubt some will say that they ought to force "welfare recipients" off the rolls and make them work here . . . . . never realizing that an impoverished family in Detroit (let's say) can't afford the daily commute.

With the cost of living in California it might not be enough to make $18/hour to make a living. And it wouldn't be the first time an NBC station had lied about what is going on in the real world as well.
