Historically, new wars help the incumbent.

I don't see Israel as eager to help Obama.

However, they may believe Rmoney is a better ally but don't want to gamble him not being elected.

If Rmoney loses then Obama has no motive to assist/not-hinder Israel.

Attacking just before the election forces Obama to pick a side.

Either Israel gets its needed or aid the US gets a new president.

A short term vs long term boon for Israel.

With how obama is, I doubt he would side with Israel. If anything, I think he would side with Iran.

I think Iran is going to force Israel's hand and they will have no choice but to attack. It should have been done a long time ago. With that said, I don't think it should be the normal blow up their buildings then waste tax payer money building them better ones. That type of warfare makes no sense to me. Level them with carpet bombing and let them clean up the mess if they can. If not, oh well.

Except there is one thing standing in the way of making it happen. They can't really get there to where the targets are with a viable bomb load to do an effective job. Unless the US and maybe Saudi Arabia helps them with Tanker support and the air space to get there then it's a moot point about delivering a fatal blow to the Iranians nuke program.  I had thought at one time that they could somehow do it with using their old F-4 Phantoms since both sides have used then but their are no qualified pilots in Israel to fly them and they would have to be modified to carry more fuel and that makes it even harder to strike the Iranians then it would be with what they have. Somebody else will have to step up and do the job if it is with an air strike otherwise it probably won't be done that way.

The Israelis have a submarine force that can reach Iran and they are supposedly armed with nuclear tipped missiles that have a 1.500 mile range. The problem here is that Israel has a policy of not striking first with nuclear weapons. So whatever they do they will have to find some way of making it work.
