« on: August 21, 2012, 03:36:10 AM »
Quote
The car was split during the crash, with most of the front passenger side destroyed.

Police said the driver, 29-year-old Paul Peterson of Sheffield, Illinois, had only minor injuries.  He was out of the vehicle and walking around when emergency responders arrived at the crash.  Police said he was wearing his seat belt during the crash.

The young man had served in the US Army. The pictures at the link are unreal. It's a Blessing that he is still alive.

We had, a week ago, some 27-year-old guy in a Suburban try to pass a semi rig, on I-87, on the shoulder at 75 mph.  He lost control, hit a big sign along the Northway, then hit a tree, which cut said Suburban in half.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  We went by the crash site almost an hour later, and crews were still cleaning up--the dead driver was still laying on the ground, with a tarp over his body.  He was stupid, and paid for it with his life.  No toxicology results back yet to determine if alcohol and/or drugs were involved.

The guy in your example, Rob, is very lucky and should be thanking God Almighty for his survival.

The thermal and explosive equivalent of a gallon of gas is 27 sticks of dynamite. When you see some crashes you get visual confirmation of that.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I agree. He was very lucky.
