Jets Pizza knows the seedy areas well enough that they send two delivery people at once: one to hand-deliver the pizzas, the other to carry a legal, loaded gun.

Disgraceful. It saddens me to read about this kind of thing. If 20 years ago someone would have told me that we were going to sink to this level I would have told them that they were full of shit.  :libssuck:

I have a difficult time reconciling that this is happening in our country.  And that most don't even seem outraged.  People just say things like "It's Detroit."  That just ain't right man, it just ain't right.

This is what happens when cities (and states) turn blue and stay blue. Look at the mess the People's Republic of Kalifornia is in from being blue for so long.

They need someone to stand up and yell about the atrocities in the city, and take it over with good conservative policies.

I was born in that city, but it was a helluva lot better back then.

My brother still lives in the area. He survives -- but I swear, I don't know how.

A year ago I went back to visit him and he, my sister and I attended a Tigers baseball game. Just north of Comerica Park (which is by all accounts a nice, new park), the row houses look like something out of Berlin in 1945. Hellholes, rubble, filth, decrepit, junk.

I carried my entire time there, for very good reason.

If I were a pizza delivery guy there, I'd buy a used Brinks or Wells Fargo armored truck and put in a pass thru window. I'd pull up out front and blow the horn for you to come get it.

The tragedy is, the typical approach and one that characterizes the whole damned sucking chest wound that Detroit is, is to pour money into it. The proverbial black hole, perhaps rivaled only by the entire continent of Africa, pouring money into that hellhole accomplishes nothing but pissing away resources.

Take off and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Anybody ever watch a TV show called "Hard Core Pawn" ? It's filmed in Detroit. Watch it if you get a chance, it's self explanatory.
