Newsweek Cover-- WTF?

So I come home from walking to dog to find that the 'ordained' would-be senator for the state north of me has opened his trap about rape- what an idiot. Good.

But just now I'm cruising The Daily Beast, and I come across what is supposed to be the newest cover of Newsweek:

http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2012/08/19/niall-ferguson-on-why-barack-obama-needs-to-go.html

1. No, it's just that neocon douche Niall Ferguson.

He's a joke anyhow, and so is Newsweek, which hardly anybody reads anymore. They might be desperate for controversy.

13. can the DOJ ban the cover.

Stop the circulation as its not honest

Sure that's exactly what the DOJ was designed for, to stop non flattering magazine stories about the preezy from being read.  :mental:

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

All of a sudden the libs care about honesty. It's a miracle.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

There's that inconvenient First Amendment thingy. Newsweek can publish what it wants, even if it's bullshit, and the government can't and shouldn't shut them down. That sword cuts two ways.

I am always astonished and appalled when I read on a liberal website a call for suppression of the press by the government.

You'll never read it anywhere else.

So Newsweek comes up with a Rush parody song BEFORE Rush comes up with it...

BTW, when were they supposed to stop their dead tree format? I have a feeling that Newsweek may have gotten the word that the Chicago Way reps have stated they will not support Newsweek (vis a vis kickbacks, or whatevah), so they may be going back to the center. A bit late I bee-leave...

Why does every pic of Barry show him with his mouth open?

Is it his "natural state" or something like that?   :lmao:

Is it because he runs his mouth so much, he CAN'T close it?   :lmao:

Yeah like they did with the cover talking about Mitt is a wimp...or that Rush Limbaugh is "The Most Dangerous Man In America"...sure...suppress free speech just like the government did in those instances.

Oh...wait...

Situational ethics. The libs don't realize the mentality that allows thinking censorship and vote fraud is acceptable as a political tool will eventually come back to destroy them.

Same tactic used by numerous tabloids.
Seemingly controversial cover, same old fawning articles inside.
If any DUmmie had read the rag, they would be singing praises.
Stupid DUmpmonkeys.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but wouldn't the Fairness Doctrine be something that might apply in this case?

You'll never read it anywhere else.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Fairness Doctrine mentioned..

44. Yeah, I knew the FD was no longer with us

I meant it as more of a 'what if' type of answer, since I couldn't answer your question about print media being banned.

I do know there have been rumblings on DU in the past of working the FD back in (plausible, or not), and using it against our tubby friend that dominates the AM airways, so I tossed it out there in sort of a 'what if' moment.

46. I doubt you will find much support on DU

...for the idea of banning or fining magazines on the basis of editorial content.

Oh, what a nice sidestep by the jberryhill primitive.  AM radio is OK, just not print media.
