You want to be Commander In Chief and be privy to all the secrets of U.S. intelligence, weaponry, diplomatic relations and more.  The people want to know if you can pass a standard security clearance check.

1. Should have put that out before he was "briefed" by MI6.

"Sorry Mr Romney, but we will need to understand your financial ties to foreign entities before we can talk with you".

That would have been awesome.

The current CiC couldn't pass a standard security background check.  Prior felony drug use and too many foreign connections and associations with known terrorists.  It would be rejected outright.

2. Be careful, has Obama provided all documents needed for that same clearance? nt

Small campfire so far.

I bet not only MI6, but Isreali intelligence did, too.

Zero couldn't pass a background check to be pooper scooper at the zoo.

Didn't stop Bill Clinton or most of his White House staff if I remember.

The standards for elected officials are a lot lower than they are for military or civil service service personnel needing SCI access for their jobs, believe me.  If Clinton could get it despite his sex addiction and persistent rumors of wholesale cocaine trafficking, and Obama could pass it despite even more drug dealing and an identity trail worthy of le Carre's 'Jackal,' it's a non-issue for Mitt.

Neither Lord Zero nor the IMPOTUS could have passed a security clearance except for being elected.
