There's an old military saying about 'Arguing with an infantryman is like wresting with a pig - you both get dirty and the pig loves it.'

Obama's problem on this issue is that he's seen as putting his own prestige ahead of those who do the actual hard work at the risk of their own lives...

...so his repsonse is to lob ad hominem attacks and talk down those who served.
