Fact is, at this rate there will come a day when it's not going to be a tapering, it's going to be a flat-out elimination of benefits for millions of retirees.

I'm planning on being one of them, hence why my retirement planning does NOT include SS or Medicare.

Now that Ryan voted for this budget buster bill, he wants to tweak the numbers now. You know these asshole are foot lose and fancy free with our f.....k money. If they had to live under the rules they set for us, we might have a little parity. They do not even read the bill then bitch about it. Even McCain voted against this monstrosity of a drug bill.

I am on SS and medicare. I have planned where most my income comes from other sources. So, I can make it even if both of these gov. programs fold.

Gallup: Seniors Most Favorable To Ryan Budget

A new Gallup/USA Today poll contains a counterintuitive finding: the age group most receptive to House Budget Chair Paul Ryan's plan to deal with the budget - seniors.

The poll finds 48 percent of seniors (those 65 and over) support Ryan's plan over President Obama's plan, while 42 percent back the president.

That's the highest total among the age groups tested - a 47 percent plurality between the ages of 50 and 64 backed Ryan, and a 45 percent plurality of those between 30-49 backed Ryan. But young voters overwhelmingly sided with Obama by a 23-point margin, 53 to 30 percent.

Overall, 44 percent back Obama's plan, while 43 percent support Ryan.

Republicans hold a double-digit lead over Democrats in public perception of which party would do a better job dealing with the federal budget, according to the survey. 48 percent prefer Republicans, while 36 percent prefer Democrats in Congress.

The poll, conducted between April 20-23, surveyed 1,013 adults and has a four percent margin of error.

I was wondering when the moon bats were going to bring that up. As soon as I heard Romney say that I thought here is another gaffe they are going to plaster all over the news. Heck, I had a picture of the NYT in my mind. It had Romney on the front page with big letters saying: "Romney announces Ryan as the next President" ... What bunch of tool boxes the left are.

True but they will be using and twisting Ryan's own words about replacing medicare with a voucher system and raising the medicare age from 65 to 67. That is going to be a hard sell. Also,, his idea about privatising SS will not go over big either. Even Boehner said no way that is coming to a vote in the House. Just saying

Polls do not mean squat to me. The NUMBER ONE (1) issue is jobs and the economy. Not the budget, not medicare. Not SS. They are important but voters want to know what plans the Repubs have to improve the job picture and get the economy going at full blast again. It really is that simple. Obama can not defend his terrible record on jobs and the economy. Obama would love to make the election about anything but these two issues.

I am not making a stink about anything. The democraps will point out his voting record. The Repubs should do the same with Obama. What I think is that Romney/Ryan should stay on the offense blasting Obama about the lousy job picture and the lousy economy. That is the number issue. I beg to differ. Medicare and Social Security are way more important to seniors than jobs are.  Granted to most people that are working or wanting to work, jobs and the economy are tops. To the DemonRat base, freebies are the most important.

The number 1 issue is jobs if the economy is going to grow or if revenues are to be increased. We can talk all day about SS and Medicare but do you honestly believe those 14 million unemployed, those students that can not find a job and living with their parents or those underemployed or those that salaries are low because of competition in the job market are really going to get excited about a SS or Medicare dialogue. Not going to happen because the country is in a hell of a fix. I feel confident that Romney can fix the job market. Then we can talk about entitlement fixes. Like I have said, Romney/Ryan need to focus on jobs and employment. Obama made a bad mistake by not doing that; I am hoping that he gets his ass kicked in Nov.

I think when it comes to medicare and ss, that it is important that we save and encourage the next generation to save as well, as if ss will not be there for us...It probably won't be. So many seniors today, did not have the advantage of IRA'sand 401k plans, etc. so they have no choice, but to live on strictly on SS and medicare.

The only goal posts that I am interested in is moving Obama and Moochelle out of the W.H. I am just trying to get conservatives to understand what the liberal media and Obama is going to throw at them. It is going to be a dirty campaign with enough lies to write a book.
I am unhappy that Rubio was not picked. We will see how Ryan holds up.

I have even given a great deal of thought to moving to Belize or Panama if Obama is reelected. Being retired with an adequate income, I could live anywhere in the world. There is just no country that even comes close to measuring up to the US. So, I am gonna stay here.
