House subpoenas Karl Rove in Justice Dept. probe
« on: May 22, 2008, 02:32:25 PM »
"Why would any conservative in their right mind serve in high government office ?These miserable little liberal slugs are always up your bucket with their wretched lawsuits, subpoenas and their committee hearings tying you up in court for years to come."

The House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed former White House adviser Karl Rove as part of its inquiry into whether the Bush administration politically meddled at the Justice Department. Accusations of politics governing decisions at the agency led to the resignation of former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. The subpoena issued Thursday orders Rove to testify before the House panel on July 10. He is expected to face questions about the White House's role in firing nine U.S. attorneys in 2006 and the prosecution of former Gov. Don Siegelman of Alabama, a Democrat.

Meh...whether Rove is now a civilian now or not, his duties/actions while in the WH are covered by "Executive Privilege".....just more of the same crap.......nothing will come of it....

It is a move with a predetermined outcome designed to allow the democrats to say, "SEE! Karl Rove is ignoring the subpoena!", while they know damn good and well he has no other option but to deny the subpoena due to his previous position in the Bush administration.

This particular kind of dogshit politics is especially heinous and completely unfair to the public.  The real dishonesty, the fact the democrats are trying to create a situation in order to create the illusion of lawlessness on the part of the administration in general and Karl Rove in particular, cheats the public out of the honest government we are entitled to for the sick political gain of a bunch of anti-American scum in congress.

did Karl Rove have a "position" in the administration other than as architect of Bush's campaigns for POTUS?

"It is unfortunate that Mr. Rove has failed to cooperate with our requests," Conyers, D-Mich., said in a statement. "Although he does not seem the least bit hesitant to discuss these very issues weekly on cable television and in the print news media, Mr. Rove and his attorney have apparently concluded that a public hearing room would not be appropriate."

"Unfortunately, I have no choice today but to compel his testimony on these very important matters," Conyers said.

And that is all you really have to tell me about the whole thing.

I wish for once that the Prez would grow some balls and tell jackasses lilke Conyers to go fly a kite.
