247. I have read a lot on that other site Sabrina and know that they make fun of a lot of people on DU but I never saw posts such as you describe about Nadin or anyone else. I don't think you can assume that anyone else saw those type of posts.

Yes I have seen posts making fun of her fantabulous stories but nothing as cruel as what you alluded to.

I have her on ignore because I think she is condescending and a lot of what she writes is exaggerated and/or not truthful. I don't think it is beneficial to DU at all.

I wish NYC_SKP would just shut this thread down. If you are worried about focus on Nadin from that other place you should encourage him to do so, keeping this thread going is NOT helpful.

And you did the rational thing, you put her on ignore. That is all people are asking them to do but they are refusing to do so. They are fighting hard to have their 'fun' at her expense for some inconceivable reason. How this could be 'fun' for any rational human being for years and years, is beyond me.

We all had our issues with Nadin, and most of us simply left her alone. But I did see those comments and if I saw them in the short amount of time I spent there, then it is reasonable to believe that those who were feeding them every day, saw them also. But even without those comments which were the worst of what I saw, what 'fun' is their to be had in mocking other people regardless of whether they 'deserve' it or not?

Like the OP, I guess I thought we Progressive Democrats were different. But looking at both sites back then, I found out that this may not be the case at all as it was hard to find any difference between those mocking her there, and those mocking her here.

Regardless, I think you and I are on the same page that teasing and taunting, even on a discussion board, qualifies as a form of bullying and ought not to be tolerated by the admins or by the membership.

And the defense of these types of behaviors and remarks as somehow harmless, or someone deserving by the target, are absolutely frustrating and sad.

Yes, I agree and to be honest, I am surprised that it is tolerated. The defense of it is sad and frustrating but you did what you could and I think most people, certainly most Progressive Democrats, agree.

The oblate spheroid is not human.

I swear, she's not human.

She's immune to human emotions of warmth, affection, sorrow, embarrassment, shame, humiliation, pain, joy, regret.  

It makes no difference to her, for example, if it's 120 degrees or -120 degrees; she's impervious to hot and cold.

Nothing has an effect on her.

I used to work with people who were graduates of Omaha South High School, and until I ran into the oblate spheroid, I thought these people were cold, impenetrable, and as hard as rocks.

I have a rather higher estimation of South alums now, than I used to.

That's why her being re-baptized the oblate spheroid, which has no, absolutely no, suggestion of humanity in it.  It's just an oddly-shaped inanimate object.
