Grand Slam Nuptials: Denny's to Open Wedding Chapel
« on: August 09, 2012, 04:13:02 PM »
Quote
As wedding costs continue to rise, couples are getting more creative about finding budget-friendly ways to tie the knot. Well, here's another resourceful solution—elope over breakfast.

Denny's, the popular breakfast-all-day diner, is planning to open a new location that will include a fully-functioning wedding chapel. Where, you ask? Vegas, of course.

The franchise plans to open a 6,432 square foot "flagship" restaurant in downtown Las Vegas—at the 250,000 square foot Neonopolis entertainment complex.

Neonopolis owner Rohit Joshi is already prepared. He filled us in with the details:

"You can now get married within a chapel in Denny's. They've got a wedding chapel, then they've got a complete bar—it's the first time Denny's has done a complete liquor bar. They've also got various areas for receptions, parties, dinners, lunches…"

She looked hot at 4 AM so we tied the knot with a side of hash browns!  :lmao:

Is that the 2, 4 or 6 dollar wedding?
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

It includes warm maple syrup, so the price is inconsequential.

At the end of the ceremony you get your choice of fries, rice pilaf, or cole slaw to throw at the happy couple.

They've got the bridal dresses and the veil menu stuck on the back of the breakfast menu. You usually have to scrape it off because of the ketchup that's got them glued together.

The last time I ate at Denny's, I got food poisoning. I haven't been back since.

It took me 22 years to go back to Long John Silver's.

It's been about 20 years since that happen.

There is one here, it is the same one I got food poisoning at. With every year's health and safety test, it gets 20+ OSHA violations. It surprises me that they are still in business.

This is in a weird spot at the end of Freemont Street that is now pretty much empty.
At one time it was a large shopping center. The restaurants in front of this plaza don't seem to last more then a year.

There is a Walgreen's across the street from it which is pretty popular for hotel guests that need things.

I am not sure how well this Denny's will do. There is a lack of wedding chapels downtown. And plenty of drunk people hungry for food.  :-)

It's almost spooky walking back into this plaza as it's dark and you don't know what you are going to find. At one time there was a movie theatre there that closed up...which was the only place to see a movie downtown.

Gambling income was down 14% in June of this year compared to last year in this part of town. The strip income was down 6%. The Las Vegas visitor count is up, they are just spending money in other places. Which is good in my opinion, as there is so much to see and do and more people are bringing kids.

A generous clothing allowance if you wear your birthday suit.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
