Hearing could potentially clear Zimmerman in Trayvon Martin shooting

George Zimmerman, accused in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, could be cleared of a second-degree murder charge if a judge rules in his favor in a new "Stand Your Ground" hearing.

Zimmerman's defense attorney Mark O'Mara announced on his website  Thursday that there will be a "Stand Your Ground" hearing based on his client's claim he shot the unarmed teen in self-defense. A finding in Zimmerman's favor would end the criminal case against him, as well as immunizing him from civil action.

I hope this ends for him soon. So much turmoil and stress in your life is not good for you. Just from everything I know about the case, I think it was self defense.

Even if they find out Zimmerman wasn't even at the scene they will keep the charges on him.  Someone has to pay for the thugs life.

The judge is under too much pressure to do anything other than have a (VERY) public trial.

Lecture me all you like about how judges are supposed to act it won't make one bit of difference. Anything less than a public trial will only inlfame passions, not diminish them and the judge is far more conscious of that fact than anyone.

Even to the benefit of Zimmerman (assuming his story holds) if he skates on a SYG hearing then he will be dogged for the rest of his life (he will regardless, but this will be worse).

The best outcome is for the prosecutor to put up her best case and have it disintegrate in full view of everyone.

The last thing I ever plan for is a fair acceptance of facts from leftists.

The NSA could release a recording of Trayvon talking to his GF saying he's gonna confront that cracka mutha ****a who's followin' him and punch him and then have a 7-11 store video backing it up.

The leftists will claim its proof that the gov't and corporations are conspiring to help white (even the hispanic kind) kill blacks.

You can't overturn the cat-calls of those determined to incite trouble for the sake of their personal agendas; the only thing you can do is appeal to the good sense of the audience the inciters are trying to co-opt.

Let the whackos be whacked; I want the independents to see how whacked they really are.

The special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case blundered yesterday by accidentally releasing evidence she meant to keep private — including a photo of Martin’s body.
